I'll help and I'll mentor. But I won't wipe your bottom. You can brag about serving this country and complain of being disabled. (which he is not). Cry baby. sorry I know his story. Get on the internet and buy your own stuff. Don't ask me to tell you what provari to buy. (which provari, their all the same just size and color difference). Geeze make up your mind.Maybe I should just tell him that tha pink mini with a blue led and a purple extenstion cap is the best one. LOL now that's funny.;

@ the OP:
I know what you mean. I feel like I am part of the last generation of men that still changes their own brakes and oil in their cars. Heck even the "poor" kids take their beaters into Brake Check and Jiffy Lube these days. I have done serious repairs to my car, refrigerator, washer, dryer, and lawnmower. I haven't rebuilt an atty yet, but you can bet when I need to, I will be the one doing that as well. Sometimes it seems that most of the youth of today expect there to be an "app for that".

Mod envy. Plain and simple.

It's a journey everyone will take.

The scariest thing I can think of is sending some poor old lady on oxygen tanks who HAS to quit out the door without 100% of her questions being answered. Granted, with older folks, I have to re-re-repeat the same mundane directions I give to newer users. The five-click on-off safety feature seems to stop older users dead in their tracks, "What the hell does that mean?!"

Older people need these the most but they're the biggest deer-in-the-headlights as I can imagine.

And they are the ones I spend the most time with. Because they really want to know. And I respect that from them. So yea they all get extra treatment form me. Special treatment that they deserve. They didn't get old by being stupid. And neither did I.

Just because they ask, doesn't mean you do it for them, which it sounds like you have put your foot down. Good for you, you know the old saying, teach a man to fish, don't just give him a fish, or to that effect :) They will learn, but it is easier for them to ask someone else to do it. bnrk

I prefer the old adage:

Light a man a fire and you keep him warm for the rest of the night.
Light a man ON fire and you keep him warm for the rest of his life.

lol

Wow - I am officially old. The 5-click thing threw me off at first in the store.

Sadly, it's not just the newer generation. My brother is two years older than I am. He has been married 3 times and has helped bring 5 kids into the world. He is divorced. He is on wanted lists for not paying his alimony. I do not take his calls because he usually just wants to get on my good side so he can ask me to buy something for him. He feels he is entitled to this because I am family and do not have his financial issues.
He wants to come visit me. I don't want him to know where I live. Once he takes care of his legal issues then he can call me, not until - yet he constantly "forgets" that I have promised to call the cops on his A** should he ever come and visit. no way do I want him to share his legal issues with me.
Still.. he calls and wants me to get him things.
oh, sorry... rant over. He called and left 2 messages when I was at work yesterday. :facepalm:
