I believe we are talking 2 different things here Jay. Ghost Chili extract is an oil of a burgundy brown colour.
Switched....
I stand by my statement, and disagree.
I have a pure capsaicin extract that is so caustic that it melted the bell on the dropper top that it came with... And i do put a dash of that stuff into my personal bowl when i eat chili (while only putting a drop or two of it into a whole pot of chili for everyone else)...
while you, as the gross majority of the population in Nova Scotia, may not be able to handle more than a drop of the pure capsaicin extract, I am a chili-head and can handle quite a bit more heat than the average joe, Hell, i've yet to meet a Chili-head in NS that can outdo me when it comes to spice toleration... Frankly, what killed me here was not the heat of the sauce but rather the fact that i ate it on an empty stomach, undiluted and in a large quantity... about 5 times the amount that i would use mixed in my bowl of chili... The facepain, while awesomely intense, wasn't what was unbearable and dangerous... it was what it did to my stomach that hurt like hell and was utterly unbearable!!
what this DOES tell all of us is that if i was in such pain (before the belly aches because of the excessive quantity) and i can generally handle a ton of pepper pain... this is insanity itself and it is intense!!
