A few days ago, my 2 month old Vmod decided to kill itself. Although it's being replaced under warranty by Vapage, I figured it was time for an upgrade. I'm also only 10 days away from 100 days smoke free, so it's a nice reward to myself as well. Yesterday I ordered a black wrinkle / silver vein (door) Grand!! HELL YES!!! That color combination wasn't available on the site, so I e-mailed Rob asking if it would be possible. Shortly after, I got a response back saying no problem! WOOHOO!! I even changed my mind about colors for a moment, wanting metallic silver instead of silver vein - thankfully he was out of the metallic, because I found a photo under different light and the silver vein is just awesome! Now I got my eye on the reomizer - just waiting for payday to hit. I was about to get an A7 for my Vmod anyway, but I figure I might as well start off my RBA experience with something that has a good support system, if I should need it.

So with a new Grand and new juice on order (I figured new juice has to be mandatory with a new device), I'm sort of in misery. My Vmod is dead and I only have 1 NASTY tasting clearomizer left for my original Volt X2, so I'm using that and an Njoy I just picked up to get me by until my goodies arrive. It really kind of sucks! hahaha. I'm stoked I'll have 2 bottom feeders though, the new Vmod will still make a good backup until I can get a VV grand in my arsenal! Maybe by that time there will be a 18650 VV :D:D:D

In the meantime, I've been loving going through this sub-forum, such a great community!! I figured I should introduce myself here, lol - so Hi, I'm John, and I have an addiction to vaping :D

Solid decision and good color choice. Im sure that the REO will take your vaping game to new levels of enjoyment. Congrats!

I just started RBA's - another big time game changer. The REO is a great platform for RBA's.

Yes, the waiting sux ballz. I just went thru it again myself. Now I have enough REOs. Yeah. Right.

Please do not feed the trolls, sir! Hahahaha! I'm stoked to try RBAs. I only have 1 unopened atty left and I'm tired of spending 10 bucks a pop. I can get some to last 2 weeks, but most are like 2-3 days, and I make them stretch just for cost - which is a wee bit unpleasant. 5 cents and 10 seconds to replace some wick sounds pretty darn attractive! Just to think... all the money I'll save from attys may amount to a new REO!!

what you describe is exactly why i started with a Reo to begin with.

i didn't want anything to derail me in my quest to get rid rid of the 'stinkies'

i've insured myself three times over now and i'm happy as a clam (who doesn't smoke)

good luck/buy all the juice you want or can afford.

Yeah, I should have heeded the advice on these boards about Vmod vs REO. The Vmod was still a great device though... until it broke. Lesson learned!

And juice, hahaha, I currently have 40 flavors, about to be 43, and payday is coming up! I don't deny my addiction! I think I still saved more than spent when compared to regular cigs, and it's a healthier alternative. Cut my nicotine in half since starting, too! Even when I reach 0 nic, I don't plan on stopping - so I want a device that will last the long haul! ... found it!

Congratulations on yer new Reo John and welcome to the ville. Sign in on Karen's (nerak) Roll Call, and Kay's (oldbroad)pic threads The Real Us when you get a chance. The lounge is also a great place foe fun and sharing tales.

BTW, you would't happen to know this really old dude that fraternizes with nurses (I think female) in yer part of the woods, would ya? He has a beard, sometimes wears a blonde wig and dress or a "No, Im not Tom Selleck" tee. Hear tell, he's up in the mountains most the time. If you do, tell him Nutz says hello fer me, okay?

Welcome to the group, John! Funny ... your experience is exactly the same as mine! Had a VModXL that broke after 3 months. They said they would replace it even though my DH tried his best to fix it again (can you say 'tube of epoxy glue??) which technically voided the warranty. I explained this to them, they said they would replace it but that was a month ago and nothing has come so ... am doubting it will. I am extremely grateful, though, because it introduced me to the world of bottom-feeders and I knew I had found my niche finally! And I got the VModXL on a 50% off sale so the hurting wasn't too bad. Figured it was time to step it up as well and that brought me to the REO ... and one happy camper I am, I have to say! And no worries about anything breaking which is even better. :D Have to say, though, that I love those Shifu atomizers and will continue to use those. Again ... welcome and be sure to post a picture of your baby when it arrives. Hopefully it won't be too long. I was blown away by how quickly it got to me and I'm clear across the continent and it had to go through customs to boot so I would expect it will be in your hands before you know it.

HECK YEAH!! You're the 2nd diver I found on ECF, I love meeting other divers!! I love going to the Cenotes, SO magical! It is mandatory for me to visit them every time I'm in that area, I've done I think 12 different lines now. I just did my rescue diver course last summer and I hope to do adv. nitrox and deco soon. Once I get comfortable in the open water tech realm, I want to go full cave - that is my ultimate goal! Like my sig says, one of my top reasons for quitting smoking is for longer bottom times. I want all the reserve gas I can get, especially with no easy way to the surface! It's not just my gas I'd be wasting, but my buddy's as well... if something goes awry, their life could literally be on my back!

Check out my vid, if you haven't already (the Cozumel one in my sig)! I have a section of cenotes that starts at 9:22, and I LOVE the whale shark part right before it, and the turtle shot before that! hahaha. ...and somewhere in there, me and my buddies are goofing off wearing Batman costumes, lmao!

HAHAHAHAHA!! ...I know nothing of which you speak... ::blinks twice and hints eyes towards the storage closet::

I had the XL as well. For me, the springs got really hot somehow and melted the plastic chassis, now it won't even fire at all. I figured it'd take a month or more for vapage to replace it... they're pretty slow at shipping stuff, I imagine this would be a nightmare. Who know's, maybe it'll be quick, but their track record so far tends to have me believing otherwise. Once I saw the melted plastic, I thought, "how do I solve this problem?"... easy, get one not made of plastic!

Hopefully my Grand comes fast, but no worries if it doesn't... I'll manage somehow and it'll all be worth it in the end! I think Rob may have to build this one for me, since it wasn't currently available through the site. I'm just stoked he said he'll do it, and not "nope, we're out, pick another!". That's some good customer service! Hopefully I wasn't an annoying customer!

Hi there John. I am playing the waiting game also!! I think we both made great choices. I cant wait to here how you like your new Reo. From everything I keep reading I think we are going to love them.

Congrats on your new REO as well!! What color did you get?!?

- Edit: Whoops, just saw your other post. NICE!!

In the land of no hills and red dirt
Welcome to the Reonauts! (Man, I'm having to say that a LOT!) Wishing us both fast shipping vibes, my retrofitted prototype VVG was mailed back to me on Saturday the 16th.

Nothing showing up on the USPS site, hoping yesterday's holiday isn't going to screw up the delivery.
