Annoying vaping issue

Recently, I picked up my Kindle e-reader to relax with a good mystery, something I hadn't done since I started vaping just over six months ago.

I was engrossed in the story and absentmindedly blew vapor at the touch screen when it suddenly advanced to the next page.

At first I thought I had inadvertently touched the screen with my finger, but it happened again even with my fingers well away from the screen. I had never seen that with cigarette smoke, though had only started smoking shortly before vaping after a lapse of 20 years (mucho stress).

I wonder why vapor caused the page to turn but smoke didn't. It didn't do it every time, but enough to be annoying. I won't quit vaping because of it, but I can see this seriously screwing up a story line if I'm not paying attention.

That's pretty neat, actually. You can manipulate electronics with your cloud. Perhaps you can control the cloud with your cloud? Cloudception.

I got ejuice in my otter box under the screen protector. I discovered this in the dark when my phone wouldn't respond to any touch near the bottom of the screen, and to get to the flashlight app I have to swipe up from the bottom. Major inconvenience in the dark, and your only flashlight is being a (expletive redacted).

Hey what do you think your vapors would do to an ATM?

It might be because vapor is composed of liquid which is conductive and smoke does not

I use an iPad with the Kindle app to read ebooks and it doesn't happen with me on that device. :O
But I can see how it can be quite annoying. Maybe blow your clouds up and away from the device when reading?

It doesn't do it with my cell, just the Kindle. It's not one of the newer Kindles but the kind with digital ink and not back-lit, 3rd generation maybe. Curious.

My Nook Simple Touch does the same. It's not always forward but it will page back too. They read your hand gestures with infra-red sensors on the screen, it's not an actual touch screen like a phone or tablet. The density of the vape could be affecting it. My fix is not to blow clouds at the screen

I think the technology in tablets/phones is different from old-school Kindles. The page is static and only uses power when it rewrites which is why the battery can last days and even weeks. I do need to be more mindful of how I vape when reading or I'll miss the clues to whodunit. [emoji6]

all depends on the device Iphones and the majority of Samsung Galaxys actually take the heat from your body before being able to do anything where as most tablets are just any form of touch. EX. Stylus, Hair, Dog, Wind, Cats, other annoying things and in this case Vapor.

Same here. It only does it with my e-reader.

Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned it. The ANTZ might drum up some narrative to show vaping really is dangerous. [emoji33] As some have suggested, I'll have to be careful to redirect the vapor as part of a reading comprehension harm reduction program. I download a lot of books from the library. Next they'll want to tax library cards. Or ban genres that appeal to minors.

Is reading a gateway to vaping - a gateway to smoking? Am I hooked on phonics? [emoji15]

I have the first generation Kindle.... nah, not digging that thing out. I will take your word for it
