Ok, been vaping for a month now and so far loving it. A 1/2 pad smoker for 25yrs most of which on lights until recently, about 7yrs on ultralights. Haven't had a cig since I started vaping.

Got the Joye 510 with 3 attys, 3 batteries, a smart PCC, about a dozen juices and 7 more to come. And most definitely, more juices to try out in search of "my" flavors.

Am happy with my setup as it can sustain my vaping requirements throughout the day {I like the Joye 510 because it can be incognito specially after having found a pen clip that fits it perfectly} except when I am in front of the computer. Too much reading on ECF  made me discover that the Ego PT is actually a battery with the mini-USB connection upfront for charging, so I can be mobile with it as well.

I can get the Ego PT for $16 so now I'm thinking, hmmmmm, that's not much and I can probably prolong the life of my 510 batteries by not charging and charging them at night or over the weekends.

Have 10 SmartCarts coming soon which I can use on the Ego as well with the 510 atty. Probably grab a couple more attys while I'm at it.

Does this sound reasonable or "Am I going nuts" over vaping {my wife's sentiments, exactly}

Not nuts at all (no offense to your wife). Perhaps the idea of comparing the cost of short-lived cigarettes to the cost of a longer-term battery up-grade might weigh on the "logic?" Even where I currently live, a carton of cigs runs about 60 dollars and didn't were gone in a few days; that seems a lot more expensive than buying a new system up-grade - especially one that would still function with my old system (the beauty of the 510 series imho).

Not to worry, in another two weeks you will be going for the Joye EGO with the 900mhr battery that last all day and maybe the EGO Tank or low resistance Atty that gives you a crazy amount of vapors. Then it's on to the eternal search for your favorite flavor. After that will follow the DIY mixing and all the stuff that goes with that route. If your wife thinks you have completely fell off your rocker at that point, just ask her one simple question. Would you rather I went back to smoking analogs cigs and died or would you rather I mess with all this Vaping stuff and hang around to bother you for a long long time.

If you're just looking for something to use in front of the computer I'd pick up Riva Kit from Litecig. Everything is interchangeable with you 510 and battery life won't be a problem, it comes with 2 batteries and the two extra atomizers you're going to buy anyway which would be less cost to you in the end with more flexibility, better value. Another benefit is you won't need to be tied to your computer to use it.

If you're wanting a stronger vape then the pass through is a great choice. You can get a 5v passthrough and a USB/AC adapter from madvapes. These are also great for doing dry burns when cleaning the atty if you ever need to use them for that purpose. The 510/Riva/Ego and similar batteries don't have enough umph to do a proper dry burn.

If you do go for the 5v pass through be sure to pick up the adapter with at least 2amp output with it. Computer USP ports aren't made to deliver that kind of amperage. Worst case is it can burn up the usb port or motherboard trying and best case is it won't harm the computer but you still won't be getting the full vape a 5v pass through is designed for.

You are fine. And actually a very smart choice if you stay around the pc alot. I'm not sure how much you vape, but if you do vape alot, it will be actually benfit you more. Your 510 battery will last longer, therefore you save money in the long run.

But the only thing that might be bad, you might be like me. I started w/ a 510 kit, after a week I purchase the eGo PT, about a week later I purchased a Riva 510 kit, because I just love the battery live on eGo so much better.

i think the pt with the usb fitting on the end is the best battery yet. In fact for someone near computers as a regular thing i think it could make an awesome super stripped starterr kit. 1 bat (they would arrleady have the cable) 2-3 ego cartomizers and a bottles of juice could be had for under $25. get soemone started on the right foot. (although the size might intimdate some)

Thank you everyone for confirming I'm not nuts!!! About wife calling me "nuts". She means it in the nicest possible way  .... Well she knows me too well with my hobbies (and I have/had lots). She knows that I always go overboard with my hobbies and somehow, she got the feeling that I've started a new one --- vaping.

Ok, I was all set with just getting the Ego PT and get a couple of attys until Riva 510 was brought up :laugh::laugh: Now the Riva kit makes more sense. 2 batteries, 2 attys for $30. With the bonus of being mobile. And, from what I've read, the SmartCarts work great with the Ego as well.

With 3 510 batteries, 2 Ego batteries, I should be all set, right? {Of course that's what I said yesterday with the 3 510s ) Guess my Joye 510 will be lonely if I get the Ego. Will probably be using the 510 if I need to be more discrete.

Before: "Hi my name is Francis and I'm an ex-smoker"
Now: "Hi my name is Francis and now I've become a pv-addict"

I can see that from the responses here that I'm following the footsteps of my predecessors on the forum :vapor:
