Well, I can't compete with Toronto_Mike's 6 months, but I've officially made it a month myself. (I filled out my signature banner thing wrong - I smoked my last cigarette on the 30th of April, but didn't officially quit until May 1.) Didn't even realize it'd been a month until his post prompted me to check and see how far along I'd made it.

One month! And only one small episode in there that was easily overcome. I owe the rest of my life to this forum and all of the people on here that have given me the benefit of their experience, both directly and indirectly. Thanks, guys!

As far as detox goes, I'm wondering if the whole lung-clearing thing just happened discreetly with me. I never really horked up big gobs of stuff after getting off the cigs, and I know that that's one of the first things to happen after quitting. Maybe that part's still to come. I don't know. I've never quit by vaping before, so I suppose we'll have to see. Are there any others who have had a similar experience that would like to weigh in?

Anyway, I've made it a month, everyone! Woohoo!

haha, banana split.....I get it.

That's good, because I didn't until you said it. :D

Anyway everyone, thanks for all the well-wishes. After almost a whole month of not even wanting a cigarette after 15 years of being a slave to them, I feel like a champ. My neighbours smoke, and whenever it drifts in through our windows I just sit and think to myself, "Egads, I really went around smelling like that?" I can't stand the smell, now. I always promised myself I'd never become one of those obnoxious ex-smokers, but I've caught myself wanting to yell at them to take it somewhere else a few times.

I should do up a leaflet or something and stick it in their mailbox. They're not the kind of neighbours I really want to have an extended conversation with.

Congrats mike . Future is looking bright . I'm coming on m 3 week mark this weekend . Not much coughing up of gunk . I've had some voice problems which were fixed by clearing my throat and the occasional coughing up of phlegm but I'd say I cough up phlegm once or twice a day . Been getting really really dry mouth with vaping in the last 3 days trying to keep hydrated . Had a small period of waking up with red watery eyeballs too but that may have been from power vaping cinnamon juice all day, once I switched juice it stopped happening . I noticed more fatigue and being physically tired . I can sleep 8-10 hours and still not be fully energized. I still feel like I have a dark force burdening me from analogs and it has yet to be lifted. I know The great day will come though.

Now I'm waiting for that lavatube to come in the mail , I got my hopes up for nothing waiting for the mailman every day this week .

Keep up the amazing work .Cigs are history

One month for me as well now. I'm so far away from smoking now that there's zero chance I will ever go back. Contrats Mike! Every day that we get through in the initial stages is worthy of our patting ourselves on the back though, so I want to offer special congrats to those who may be in their first few days of this, when the going is a lot tougher. Just focus on getting past it and before you know it you will be completely free of the things!

As for the coughing up, well I used to cough up a bit when I smoked, don't anymore and haven't really since I quit. My lungs have started to heal though, but after 32 years of abusing them with about, let's see, half a million cigarettes or so, I expect that they will take some time to recover from that :)
