Another banner test/problem

So, every time I see it it's because the site is up and every time Roonies looks it's down? LOL Sonic ... if I click on your banner, that will be a different route than the one that I have, and it will be reliable?

At the time I wrote that, your banner was not visible to me either. Now it is. So their server is up again, and the page is no longer hanging on that script load.

Although, I should add that that was my opinion only, and not that of ECF... And also, I should have said I wanted something more reliable, as nothing is 100%, right?

Oh, and my banner is the ECF banner (which you can get under Forum Actions at the top, then click Generate Sigbanner), in case anyone is interested. I'm not saying it's reliable, or required, but it has served me quite well.

I tried it both through clicking on your banner and Forum Actions. Neither way will allow me to cut and paste it. Grrr...

Clicking my banner or the link at the top will take you to a page where you enter your choices for questions asked, then click submit. When you do, you get a new page with a preview and the code you will need to enter into your signature area. You don't copy the image itself.

For example, it will give you code like this (without the spaces I added to force the code to show):

Which will look like this in your signature:

If you can't get the generator to work for some reason, you might be able to do it manually. Copy the code below and paste it into your signature edit field, then change just two parts of it:

Change the "20" at the end of the code to how many cigs you smoked per day and change the date just before that to your smoke-free date, keeping the format the same (yyyy/mm/dd). Leave the rest of the code intact and it should work fine
So here is the end section of the code with the date and number you need to change bolded in red in case my description is not clear:
php?start=2013/05/01&rate=20

I've seen it happen before where some people cannot get certain code generators to work properly and this method worked for those particular banners. I just tried it out with this one and it works here, too

Those of you using the website since my last cigarette . com are going to have problems from time to time (this is why you can't see Equus50's banner right now). Their servers are up and down more than the Dow. So on occasion, their banners will not show, and even hang the screen from completely loading (circle keeps spinning even though the page looks loaded). That's why I switched to a vendor's banner (this was over a year ago!). I wanted something reliable.

Roonies - Looking at your account, you're issue is that you've posted an image, rather than the code to the site of the banner. That's why you're numbers aren't changing. You need to copy & paste the code the site gives you when you create the banner, not the image itself. Then the image will show, and will update automatically.
