You could check with Lighthound for your batteries. Also don't forget to get a good quality charger. I personally would go with the IMR's since they won't explode in a dead short situation. While it is true that protected batteries have a protection circuit, a simple thing like dropping them can damage that circuit. Also invest in a multimeter and learn how to use it. They are inexpensive and will tell you if a battery is misbehaving. Good luck. :)

So IMR is safer? I thought everyone said the protected batts are safer. :?: Now I'm all confused. Is a multimeter the same thing that tells you how many volts your PV is vaping at? Also is R and R manufacturing out of business? I can't pull it up. They're the ones that make the Jouneyman right? I wanted to read what the manufacturer says about the journeyman. You can't buy them new anymore? Thanks again.

Edit: It looks like lighthound only carries 1 battery in that size and it's the AW unprotected IMR red battery. Is that the one I should be getting? I did find that battery a little cheaper at RTDvapes. I was told maybe I should get the protected with the black jacket. What would the difference be. Is one more powerful or last longer? What is the difference? This battery stuff is so confusing. :(

Also if I get those where do I get spacers? Looks like RTD doesn't sell them and what size do I need?

Karla, the AW Li-Ion has a protection circuit built in and the AW IMR is the new "safe chemistry" battery. As you already know you can get either at RTD. I am not sure about any ecig vendors that have the spacers though. I don't think you will need them because the AW IMR is not a flat top battery, that I can recall....

Lighthound has both on their site. Here are the links....
AW RCR123a Protected 750 mAh Battery
AW IMR16340 550 mAh IMR CR123 size LiMN Rechargeable Lithium Battery
Magnetic Spacer - 1.6mm

Actually, I found a couple of vendors that have the spacers....

Thanks so much. I was hoping to get batt and spacers at the same place to save on shipping. You would think that a place that sells batteries would sell spacers too. That would make sense. Maybe I will just try the AW IMR and hope they fit and buy the spacers later if they don't. But you know how it is when you get something new. You want to try it the minute you get it. The guy I bought it from said if I get the IMR I will need spacers but I don't know if that's all IMR's. Maybe the aw are bigger? Thanks for the help.

EDIT: I FOUND IMR 16340 BATTERIES FOR $3.99 AND THEY SELL THE SPACERS. THE BATTERIES AREN'T AW THOUGH. I DON'T THINK THEY HAVE A NAME BRAND. ARE THEY SAFE? THEY ARE HERE PLUS I CAN GET SOME ATTY'S THAT I NEED THERE. JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE THEY WON'T BLOW MY FACE OFF. LOL. ALSO WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN PERFORMANCE BETWEEN PROTECTED, UNPROTECTED AND IMR? WHICH PERFORMS BETTER AND LASTS LONGER?????

OK so I bought the protected Trustfires flames. i found them for $9 for 2 so I hope they are good. I saved a little money too. Thanks

I have heard a few people say the flames are a good battery. I thought I read somewhere on the forum that the AW IMR batteries are a higher wattage battery or something to that effect. I bought some for my small box mod and will try them out and let you know how they are. The blue Trustfire batteries I received with my mod are quickly dying. They are only shy of 3 months old and they are getting less than 1/2 the cycle they were when I got them.
