I have AW IMR 18490, 18350, Efest IMR (li-mn) 18650, and Trustfire 16340 (protected li-ion)
batteries. Would there be a conflict between any of these batteries and the Nitecore I4 Intelligent Charger? Anything else I should know? Thanks in advance.
Your i4 will be able to charge all those. They are all listed on the specifications to be compatible with all except the 18350. However,18350 IMRs do fit, and I have been charging them to 4.2 without any issue, but you'll want to keep in mind how this charger operates.
If you are charging in all 4 slots, or in 2 opposite slots like 1 & 3 or 2 & 4, the unit will provide a max of 375mA to each slot. That's a safe current for any compatible battery.
If you are using only one slot, or 2 adjacent slots such as 1 & 2, 2 & 3, or 3 & 4, the unit will provide a max of 750mah to each slot. That's a safe current for larger batteries, but is getting iffy for 18350. Not so much that it would be unsafe for those, but will reduce the life-span of the battery. For that reason I either charge all my batteries using all four slots or if charging 2 batteries using opposite slots, to prolong the life of my batteries.
When it comes to batteries such as AAA or 10440, you MUST make sure to not let those batteries charge at 750mA, which the Nitecore instructions worn against. For your IMRs it's up to you, do you want a quicker charge or do you want to possibly extend the life of your batteries.
