So I have been rebuilding my PT2 heads with 3mm silica wick. They seem to have been working good until now. I rebuilt one with 2.5mm since I have a metric ton of it. WOW...sooooo much better. I have more vapor and better flavor. I thought the 2.5 would not fill the gap and flood the head. Was I doing it wrong the whole time? Was this a fluke or should it work that much better?

Has anyone tried 2.0mm?

I'm skeptical to try 2.0mm...it might leak wayyyyy to much. 2.5mm barely fills the gap. JMO

my first order was 2 /2.5 / 3 mm wick-didn't know what I wanted (along with kanthal 32)

so I just started cutting and wrapping and learning
started in the middle 2.5, worked OK (1st coil)

then just started cutting and mixing all the wick stock I had

so here is what my thoughts are (so far)

I'm NOT a believer in removing the supply (flavor) wick, I think it is necessary
I think 2 mm with kanthal wrapped around it is plenty as long as you have a good supply wick

in my experience the ideal set up for the kanger bcc is ~2.5mm inside kanthal / 2.5mm supply wick~
then due to poor manufacturing tolerances if flooding and gurgling occurs,
install a larger 3mm supply wick in to make up the difference

it has worked in the wicks that I have built and I do it to the coil/wicks I clean burn
and just replace the stock ‘supply’ wick with 2.5 or 3 mm

so this is just what I have experienced and has worked very good so far and I guess will continue
to suggest it to others until I find a better way or am corrected by someone...

Happy vaping :)

You did exactly what I did with your order..lol. I took out the flavor wicks and just use a 2.5mm wick and that works best for me. The 3mm seemed to be choked after I put the gasket on. Now with the current setup I get about twice as much vapor.
