I've been on here 2 months now. I started out with a small mass marketed eCig. I had issues with the battery life, with my cartos dying too quickly, and with my orders getting backordered.
I gave up and went back to smoking due to the massive amount of stress I was under (I just about lost my foot to a tumor and the surgery mangled what I do have left), but knew that I couldn't sustain that habit either. It was too hard to conceal the smell from my nurses and my mother, and I don't need to tell anyone here how bad cigarettes are for your health, especially when you are as ill as I was.
I decided to do more research after reading a link to ECF on Slick Deals (my "other" forum).
I purchased a KGO and later a Vapage VMOD XL. I haven't looked back, and my collection of toys and 20+ juices continues to grow, lol. I only touch cigs every month or so just to remind myself after a puff that I can't stand it anymore. vaping is now my hobby, it keeps my stress level down, and I do it from the comfort of my own bed when I can't do much else during my long recovery.
Fast forward to this week. My parents' tenant smokes 1/2 pack a day. He tried my KGO and later this week, my VMOD. I went down and had a drink with them, and he was so impressed he wouldn't even give the VMOD back! He vaped the entire evening lol. I had Backwoods Brew's Honey Flue Tobacco in the tank and the smell was amazing. So he decided right then and there, that we, slightly inebriated, would order him an eGo Twist and get him the best custom starter kit I knew how to build.
I put in an order with Mt Baker Vapor for the eGo Twist and 3 bottles of juice to start off. It arrived in 2 days. I dropped the kit by with his wife yesterday, and promised to come back today with an instruction manual and some useful links and websites to show him.
I was outside this morning while another neighbor was helping me with the one-legged yardwork, and he had a HUGE smile on his face as he walked to his car to go to work. He pulled out the eGo Twist with the Vivi Nova Mini I gave him from Got Vapes, full of RY4. He announced that he spent all of last night on YouTube learning all about how to use his new toy, and happily vaped it for the neighbor to demonstrate, who'd never even heard of an eCig, telling her about all the benefits in comparison to smoking. I figured I'd be spending some time showing him how to use it, but he was so game to start out that he taught himself what he needed to know.
It was so awesome to see him transition that easily. Now I have someone to chat about eliquid flavors with too! Of course there is some self-satisfaction in converting the masses, but here I felt such validation in that a friend is getting a new lease on his health and saving money (one pack of cigs here goes for around $11). It was a celebration for me too, as I see very few examples of measurable success in my life these days. And I'm sure mom will be happy that her tenant won't be smoking outside anymore!
