I have an ego setup with a iclear 16 dual coil. I've found that I like the 70/30 mix (I've also used straight pg) of 18mg menthol. Question I have of which I'm sure is answered somewhere in this forum...I try to vape like I use to smoke (2 packs a day). I find that unless my tank is FULL, I get burnt or low flavored hits. I'm wondering if a CE5 with a bottom wick would help. Any advice? vaping for 2 weeks so I am a beginner.

Great web sight, I've learned a lot...I use you as a support group in the a.m. Down to 2 analogs per day...soon.none!:)

Hi there, Welcome to ECF

The iClears are pretty obsolete tech at this point considering the availability of top notch clearomizer. I would in no way in hell recommend a CE5 either.

The Aspire Nautilus Mini with BVC coils on the other hand is a great performer and will blow your mind in the flavor category.

I'm not overly familiar with the Iclear 16 but if it's coming out burnt tasting you can turn the thing upside down a few times. You kinda have to manually make sure the top coil is getting enough juice. Other than that unless you can lower the voltage on your battery I'm not too sure. Oh, and don't pull on it like you do with an analog, I used to do that and I'd always get burnt hits even with a bottom coil. Just slowly and gently inhale. Let the system do the work for you.

I've never had any luck with any aspire products, and the CE5's we're the worst of the bunch. But anyone who knows me knows I always recommend the Kanger line of products. There really is no way to go wrong with a nice protank2 for instance. So simple to use and maintain. It all comes down to personally preference. And luckily plastic tanks like the CE5's and Kanger Evods (plastic protank basically) are cheap so you can screw around and try a bunch of different styles to see what works best for you. Aspire products don't work for me, but lots of people on here swear by them.

Oh and welcome! Good to have you here!

What I did with my top coil tanks is that I'd point it down after each vape. Helps put ejuice closer to the coils. Don't do strong draws (pulls/puffs/whatever) with the top coil tanks or you'll get juice leaking to your mouth. Save your time and money and when you need new coils, get a Mini Nautilus or Kanger Mini Protank 3. Bottom coils just work better. The Mini PT3 is a damn good tank for the price and the Mini Nautilus may even be better.

Kanger vs Aspire = Ford vs Chevy
People have their favorites :)

Hi and welcome!

Most, if not all (I skimmed ), of the clearos mentioned have glass tanks. Glass is a very good choice. Some plastic tanks react to flavors, cinnamon, banana and cola for example, causing them to melt or crack. With glass you don't have to worry about what juice you are vaping.

Does no one have issues with the bvc coils? Some of mine taste ugly. They taste metallic in the begin. But not all bvc coils. Just some. And those who taste metallic, you still can use them, but you will have to wait some time until they taste normal. Once you had a vape of 2ml they metallic taste is gone. I usually don't inhale the first 2ml on these coils, because of the taste... Obviously...

No one of you had similar experiences?

Well, as said. Not all bvc coils are like that, so maybe I got some cloned coils?

However, I would also suggest Aspire nautilus (mini or regular) but I honestly will throw RTA into the mix

At least get one as a second device, learn how to deal with it. It's easier than you might think. Ofc, you should get a recommended clone at first (or if money isn't a problem just get what you like) but don't get confused. I vape my RTA (rebuildable tank atomizer) at 8 to 10 watts just like I do with my other atomizer (1.4 to 1.6 Ohm microcoil with cotton)

Well, this is no common recommendation. A lot of you will disagree. But once you figured it out its just so easy and reliable and ofc cheaper in long term conditions. At begin it will cost some extra money for additional gear, but that will be compensated real soon)

I wasn't impressed enough with the BVC to justify the cost of replacement heads. Plus, I found this discussion about what they are made of interesting:

I burned up my very first BVC. After that, I learned how to prime them correctly and have had zero issues since. The metallic taste that I go was from the Nautilus Mini itself, not the coils. That's why I sold it and bought a CE-5, Mini Vivi, and K1 (all BVC). All vape every bit as good as the Nautilus minus air flow control, which isn't a big deal for me, as I am not a lung hitter.

Well true. Sorry. Missed that part. There will be some limitations with eGo battery's.

But as for the metallic taste part... My nautilus atomizer isn't the issue here. If I smell some of the bvc coils I can figure out which coil will taste rubbish and which not. Also I got my nautilus for quite some time now.. That's my real experience with BVC. I don't make this all up

I would definitely do the Scratch Check Verification when you buy coils. I've never heard of that issue before.

That's the scratch test from those 1.8 Ohm package which had the rubbish coils.

Now I got here another package (from the same seller) and these coils taste normal.

Sorry, but that's what it is

But. I guess this is to much off-topic. Which let me think maybe I cut this discussion here.
