Hello everyone. In an uncharacteristic move for me I made a purchase without doing my research first. I bought one of the cigarette lookalike kits. While it isn't horrible it's not satisfying. The biggest them I want to change is throat hit. More vapor production would be nice but for vaping to work I need to fix the throat hit. I smoke menthol which seems to have a bigger throat hit than regular tabacco cigs. I have been doing some reading and research here and think I am going to go with a Ego Twist. I like the adjustable voltage and the size. What I am confused a bit on and need help with is what to put on the end of it.

From what I've read I think I need a cartomizer but don't know what to go with. I spend most of my day in the car and due to my job perception is reality. With that being a case I need something somewhat discrete and this puts tanks completely out of the question. I would like something that will blend with the Twist and not look like drug paraphernalia. What would be a good carbinizer that would match up with the Twist voltage production range and my desire for throat hit? Single coil, dual coil, and various resistances available just confuses me. I will be looking into a tank as well for use at home but for the immediate future I just need a regular cartomizer for the road to get started with.

Thanks guys.

Hello,I've been through them all.I would suggest A Vivi Nova, or Kanger T3 or the new hot Kanger Pro tank, They are easy to fill and hold alot of juice. If you're looking for the cartomizer type you can get the Boge 510xl LR= low resistance. These are single coil. I like these better than dual coils. Check out PBUSARDO at tasteyourjuice.com. Great tips on all types of delivery systems> Good luck!

Lots of people start with the cig look-a-likes then move on very quickly to more reliable products. I would say an ego style battery (Ego twist is great), and something like a Kanger T2 clearomizer. They are cheap and perform very well. The problem is I guess you could say it looks like "drug Paraphernalia." I personally bring mine everywhere and nobody has ever questioned it. But then again I really don't care what people think.

As far as throat hit, that probably not so much your setup but you juice. More PG, and more nicotine might help. Different brands maybe will help. Try some samples from different vendors. Goodejuice has a line called USA lab made juices that pack a nice throat hit (IMO).

Issue is I'm a cop. If I ride around in a marked patrol car looking like I'm hitting (OTHER STUFF) it's going to create some phone calls. I'm going to give tanks a try at the house and even out and about on my off day but for at work I need something more discrete. A tank is certainly going to be part of my order but need some regular non-tanked carto's as well. Just completely confused on what to order. I'll look into that juice line. I'm actually using nic free juice, using patches to wean myself from nicotine.

Unfortunately you can't use 1.5 ohm dual coil cartos on the twist due to it's weak switch. They would provide warmer vapor which enhances throat hit. But the primary effect on better throat hit is your nicotine level. You may want to increase your nic level for better throat hit. If you decide to upgrade to a better model PV, I would look at one with a 5 amp switch which would allow you to use any atty/carto/tank, etc on the market. The Vamo ($40) has a 5 amp switch and I believe the Zmax has a 4 amp switch (which is good enough) and I think the eVic has a 5 amp switch.

FYI: I've converted more sheriff's deputies to vaping than I can count. It's good to see more law enforcement personnel are on board with vaping.

Tha vamo would be doable price wise, main concern is the darn thing is huge! I've some kits out there that have cones that cover the tanks. Is there a cone-tank set-up that would work with this? Or the Twist? I'm still on the fence of atty/tank and carto/tank. Also still thinking just carto as well. Also I'm concerned with leaking with the tanks.

Get a little Ego Roll or an Ego-T tank system. A little bigger than a cig alike, but doesn't resemble anything that you are worried about.
Ego T tank system may leak a bit, but mine hasn't YET...Then you can put a tank/cartomizer/clearo or anything 510 threaded on it when you get home. egot.jpgeot2.jpg

You can make the Vamo physically smaller by using just one 18350 battery which may help you out. The Vamo would be a big upgrade over what you have due to it being variable wattage and having a 5 amp switch. Plus the advantage of batteries that are 2 - 3 time less expensive than the twist. You can't beat the ease of use and consistency of variable wattage. With a 5 amp switch, when something new comes out that you want to try, you won't have a problem.

I use Phiniac glass tanks and have never had a leak problem or breakage. They are pretty rugged. I'm in the car 10 - 12 hours a day and the Vamo (full size) lasts me all day and then some. Same with the 5ml Phiniac tank. The Phiniac works with both cartos and attys. They will let you know which one(s) you need based on what you use.

Vamo isn't going to work. When I first looked at it I just saw the price of the body. Didn't realize also need batteries and a charger which pushed the price up to around $90. It may be something I look into down the road but for right now it's to expensive.

Welcome and thank you.....for your Police work. Thanks for all you do to keep my family and I safe. I don't have an answer for you...I have some suggestions. Do what's right for YOU. If you are not doing anything wrong......let 'em call. You are trying to save yourself and not please Busy Bodies. You put your life on the line every shift.....talk to a supervisor.......I would be very disappointed if I got in the way of somebody trying to save their own life. Good luck. :2c:

I thought he didn't want to use TANKS or CLEAROS while he is working?

Ideally I would prefer not to.

Thank you for the kind words. With the things going on right now I don't want to bring any attention to myself that's not needed. Getting complaints whether valid or not is frowned upon. I'm hoping to find some middle ground. What do you guys think of this:

I'm still confused about what resistance I need. For the Boge's they have 2.0 and 3.0. For the Vivi they have 1.8 and 2.4. Which do I need? Would these be a good starter set-up or do I need to keep looking? For fluid I am going to try goodejuice mentioned earlier in the thread.

Some vet would probably give better ohm rating than me......but for ejuices go to the General Smoking section and look at the stickie at the top 2012 Juice Awards....gives you the top rated juices and vendors...MtBakerVapor is highly rated and wicked inexpensive. I am getting my first order from them tomorrow. You are in NC....if you didn't know :D, there are a lot of B&M's close to you. AquaVapor is in NC for quick shipment and any B&M's will give you instant (brick and mortar stores) will get you something you need in a pinch. Try VaporsearchUSA for these. Any advice or help you will find it freely on here. Good luck and ask any questions you may have.

Except on the ejuices...I'm pretty fluent in that area!!!! I would say the lower resistance, but if you get the Twists (or Vision Spinners which I have) you're going to be able to adjust your voltage though 3.0 seems a little high for this mid level mod. I have the Spinners and usually use 1.8-2.4 resistance. That is what I meant about a B&M, you will be able to see what you are buying and try it out....big advantage. Google Vapor stores in your area. Get to Aqua Vapor and they would be able to help greatly.

Closest one to me is in Fayetteville which is about an hour away and $25 worth of gas round trip. I have no attachement with the place I had the cart, they just had everything I was looking for. Took a look at the mrbakervapor and will give it a shot, it is dirt cheap with cheap shipping too. So what I have in the cart is good to go just switch to lower ohm parts?

I'm still confused about what resistance I need. For the Boge's they have 2.0 and 3.0. For the Vivi they have 1.8 and 2.4.

For 3.2- 4.0 volts on the Twist you would use either 1.8 ohms Vivi Nova Heads or 2.0 ohms cartomizers. For 4.0 to 4.8 volts you would use 2.4 ohms. "Most vapers enjoy their vape around 4- 4.5 volts. You'll be able to dial the voltage up or down according to the ohms delivery device you're using. After connecting the Vivi or cartomizer just start the voltage low and dial up until you're happy with the quality of vape.
Many of us use a smaller Twist type PVs while out and about and when at home we use a larger PV like the Vamo. I just bought a Stainless Steel Vamo from China for $37.00 delivered- took about 3 weeks. Added 4 X 18650 Panasonic batteries from Hong Kong for $20.00 delivered- took 11 days. Already had a charger...LOVE my Vamo and it's a very impressive PV- large yes but I only use it at home. My one suggestion in regards to your order would be maybe 1 more battery and an atomizer.- an element in a metal tube on to which 3-4 drops of juice is dripped- usually used for testing new juices because atomizers are easy to clean.

Ideally I would prefer not to.

I ordered the Smoktech Dual coil Mega XL Cartomizers last week and have enjoyed them. The taste is good/clean and they hold a lot more than the reg 510 (they are bigger but still look like a reg cartomizer. The dual coil should help with throat hit too.

Smok Tech Dual Coil Mega XL 1.5 OHM Cartomizer, Black

They also have a 3 ohm. I've been using the 1.5 on my Ego with no problems.
Good luck and Thanks for putting it on the line everyday to keep the rest of us safe.
