I'm not sure why I've waited this long to pull the trigger on getting into vaping. I've been intrigued for several years and have a couple of family members who were able to ditch analogs in favor of vaping.

I received a free Njoy cig-a-like sample a few months ago. While it delivered nicotine, it tasted like what I imagine a hobo's underpants would taste like. I was pretty sure that if were to get into vaping, I'd have to go the cig-a-like route due to the curious looking nature of the larger battery/tank units. I've really seen a big uptick in folks vaping in public with non-cigalike devices which I think is the main reason I'm going for it now.

I did some basic "research" and decided to start with an eGo kit - two 900mAh VV Winders with two ARO tanks and the requisite chargers. I also ordered 60ml worth of various juices, two pyrex Vivi Novas and some extra Vivi Nova coils. Stuff should be here today (fingers crossed). I'm a gadget nerd and tinkerer so I fully expect (assuming I actually enjoy vaping) this initial foray to devolve into full blown madness before long.

I'm 43 and have been a PAD smoker for about 25 years. I was able to quit cold turkey once in my late 20's but fell off the wagon about six months later. I've tried the Chantix route a couple times since then but that stuff just doesn't agree with me. So, I'm hoping vaping will make the transition away from tobacco possible.

If my suspicions turn out to be correct, I'll be a frequent visitor and possible contributor here once my infamous "hobby obsession" kicks in. Typically, when I get into something new, I *really* get into it and I'm guessing vaping will no different.

Hi I'm also a new member and this is my first post. Have been scouting for equipment and juices for my hubby who has recently TODAY switched from analogues to vaping yaaay!! Hoping to learn from all the veterans and especially interested in DIY juices given that my country bans the use and importation of PVs and juices :(

Welcome to ECF, your story sounds a lot like mine, I'm also 43, just off a 25+ years pack and a half a day habit, and reside in Va. I started with the evod , similar to your ego, within 3 days I didn't even want a cigarette. If you find the right flavors and nicotine level I think you'll like vaping and it will end up turning into a hobby just as much as a way to avoid cigarettes.

The gadget and tinkering bug hit me pretty fast, I'm just 2 weeks in and have already ordered a better battery, a few rebuildable atomizers, and supplies to build my own coils, but the initial costs of it all still haven't gone over my past monthly cig costs.

Thanks for the well wishes and kind words, folks.

My gear did not show up on Saturday as anticipated. However, it did arrive today - I called my daughter at home and she confirmed two packages came for me in the mail. So, it looks like this evening will be my first foray into vaping. We'll see how long it takes to start ordering more stuff (not long if I had to guess).

I have a single analog left. It's going to be a long four hours until I get home.

And a big Welcome to you, too!!

There is a whole section devoted to DIY, but I must warn you, it becomes addictive!!
