Hi all! I am hoping to get my Joye 510 today, and am excited but nervous. I have read some scary things about nicotine overdose, getting it on your skin, etc. making me worried about dripping, or using too much juice. I ordered from Cignot ECOpure 3ml, Regular, 25mg Nicotine and VG Marlb USA MIX 5ml 26mg Nicotine. I'm wondering if these will be too strong as I normally smoke Doral Ultra Lights (1.5 packs a day).

I apologize if this has been addressed elsewhere in the forums, I have been reading as much as possible, and everyone is so helpful!:) Thanks for any input!

Welcome to the forum!! Certainly agree with the above! As a newbie myself, I have spilled some juice while filling my carts and nothing has happened. I just wash my hands with soap and water as soon as I am finished. As far as the mg of nic, that is something that you will find out by trial and error. I have smoked for 34 years, full strength menthols. I ordered the 26mg from Cignot with my kit and it is too much for me. After about 3 vapes, I start to get that "nic buzz" so I don't feel like I can vape long enough to get that "cigarette urge" quite gone. I just ordered some 18mg and I am hoping that will work.

Let me know how you do with the lower nicotine. I know it is a "trial and error" with each person, so maybe I will need to order a couple different bottles to find the right mix. Thanks for the info!

You are very welcome and if you can, I would order a couple of small sample bottles of different mgs. Also, try some pg and vg based eliquids. I wish I had known all of this before my first order. I did read and read this forum but there is just so much information that it boggles the mind! I did get vg and pg from Cignot and I find that the vg is much more to my liking. It produces more vapor and has an easier throat hit. I want a strong throat hit but not one that burns and vg seems to do this for me. But this is just my experience. Like I said, everyone is different, you will have to try a few and see what is the best for you. This is just a wonderful road of new discoveries! Have fun!

Oddly I received almost the exact same order from Cignot a few weeks ago. I was smoking about a pack a day of Marlboro full flavors before my kit arrived. Now (after ordering more juice) I am pretty much smoke free...craving my RY4 instead of a regular cig.

The nic level your ordered worked great for me, but that seems to vary wildly from person to person. My wife for example smoked about the same amount as me, but the 26mg liquids are a bit much for her. She ordered some 10ml 18mg liquids and it seems just right.

We haven't overdosed yet either! I try to keep the vaping in semi-moderation, but for the first few days I suppose you could say I chain vaped a bit. Personally I didn't notice any of the OD warning signs. I did start breathing better though!

And yes you are going to get some on your skin from time to time. If some drops on your hands its just a sticky substance to rinse off, but if some gets on your lips it can have a nice little sting for a few seconds. I've got some in my mouth a few times now from overfilling my carts like the new guy that I am. I just wipe off the excess and rinse with some water.

I hope these answers calm your nerves a little bit. You are making the right choice my friend! Keep on browsing these forums and make sure to check out the 510 cartridge modifications. That was one of the first things I did after I figured out how cruddy the polyfill that comes in them is. I have all my carts loaded up with the pyramid teabags and its working great so far.

You can also get some glycerin from a drug store to dilute juices that are too strong. And I agree with the other posters, getting that nic level on your skin is not an issue. Just wash or wipe it off. Some people get alcohol wipes for such cleanups, but hot water is fine...everything in juice is water soluble, generally, other than mints, cinnamon or clove.

The danger comes about when people are trying to work with very high nic juices, like 48 mg and above. A drop on you left there might make you fell sick. But a large spill all over you, like spilling several 100 mL on you, is a serious problem. So before you decide to purchase that liter of 100 mg unflavored for years of DIY, be sure to read up here first to learn how to handle it.

Very glad you have a healthy respect of nic, though. It will keep you safe, but calmly keeping the skin clean is the best habit to get into, no matter the nic level.

Also, sometimes the cart will sort of belch a bunch of juice into the mouth. When that happens, try to spit it out into a paper towel and drink/rinse with lots of water. If you get hiccups, you will know your throat has taken in too much nic, besides the ringing in the ears and sickly stomach.

Hmmm. That is very interesting. Can I get VG at a drug store as well? Do you have to go to the pharmacy?

I buy Wiltons Glycerin at Michael's. It is used in cake decorating to refresh icing. I dilute with distilled water because it is a bit thick.

That brings me to another question...can you mix VG with PG? And can you just add drops of candy flavoring?

yes, and yes, as long as the candy flavoring does not contain sugar. VG = glycerin (vegetable glycerin). CVS sells it. I get mine at Whole Foods in the cosmetics, Heritage brand. Just make sure it says USP on it, otherwise it will not be food grade.

Again, thanks for some great information! I may experiment with some flavoring. I think the glycerin is an excellent idea, and may help wean me off of the nicotine eventually. I'm really getting excited now! Thanks!!! :)
