my hubby and i always enjoy this time of year... warm enough to uncover the harley and go for a ride! as long as its 68°+ and sunny, we take the bike on every errand. this weekend was that 1st time of the year. i didnt realize until yesterday how much of a PITA riding on a motorcycle is and trying to smoke much less light a cigarette. it was so easy to just take my ecig (on a lanyard around my neck) out of my windbreaker and puff away. i also didnt get back to the house and have to stand at the trashcan cleaning the butts and loose tobacco out of my pockets.

I hear you, similar situation for me (albeit I've got a '07 Mustang GT). First time I'm able to cruise windows down and not get annoyed with ash blown into my eyes and even more than normal into the car. I always had driven with just the driver's window cracked and the a/c on but today was the first time to go out with the windows down and enjoying every minute. Never heard how loud my car really is, cool hearing the sound bouncing back off houses and fences :D

***Time to note another benefit to vaping over smoking***

I've noticed the same thing with riding and I can even vape with a full face helmet on. Never could smoke that way LOL. Getting them lit was never a problem, just getting to the lighter on the Harley and then trying not to drop it putting it back in. Ashes blowing everywhere, half the cig burning up and the wind, and what to do with the butts. Don't miss any of tat at all.

I never smoked when riding, but I do enjoy my cigarette breaks to stretch my legs. My 100+ mile ride yesterday was an acid test for vaping breaks instead of smoking breaks. I stopped in Hermann MO (a nice little german town by the Missouri river), watched the waters flow by as I vaped my MBV Caramel Apple. Felt the relaxation of the nic like I used to with cigs, and continued my ride.

:D

I used to smoke while riding. I ride a Ural Gear Up, a Russian military two-wheeled drive sidecar motorcycle (yes, it is camouflaged and I even have a machine gun on the sidecar....). It has a huge military surplus windshield with canvas skirt which allowed me to spark one up with my Zippo while riding. That huge windshield even allowed a long ash to build on the cig.

More than once the wind would blow my pack out of my riding vest, so much so that I kept a spare pack in the sidecar trunk !!

It's nice knowing I don't have to be concerned about that anymore !
