Another rough day, but not giving up

I smoked for 26 years. The first time I quit using an e-cig, I used the Blu. I hated it. It never seemed to curb my craving. The next time I quit using an e-cig I used a Kanger EVOD. It was exactly what I needed to get off the cigs.

One thing to remember vaping is not the same as smoking and it does take a few days to get use to.

In the beginning, vaping really dried my mouth and throat out. I would get ulcers and my throat was sore. I found that I had an issue with PG. I switched to a high VG juice and that took care of a lot of the issues I was having. Many juice makers allow you to choose the PG/VG ratio. I usually use a 30/70 now.

Many people don't just switch and give up on cigs. Don't fret over the few you have while you transition. After smoking for so many years, it is a hard habit to kick. Take it one day at a time and each day try to vape more and smoke less.

Hi all,

I've been hanging in there this week with 1/2 of the reg cigs I normally smoke and using Blu disposable in between some. So this is day 5 and I've been through the mill - fatigue one day so bad I didn't think I could stay awake at work. Now today a few sore places on tongue. But the worst part is a co-worker has come in all week sick as a dog....now I think I'm getting it. Or is it nicotine working out of system. Is the sore tongue nicotine working out of system...or from Blu. Ugh. And some stomach issues. But I kept going back to what a poster said in another one of my threads that I should think of it as the nic getting out of my system rather than blame the Blu. Soon I hope I get the courage to fire up (not literally fire) my eGo and try that and see how I do. I think I need a higher nic level than I'm getting to ward off withdrawal symptoms. Then I think I can give up the regulars easier. OH and I forgot....a migraine the other day - aura and all!! I get those maybe 1-2 times a year. So I blamed it on that rather than anything to do with cutting in half my intake.

Thanks for being here.

Do you know what kind of tank it came with? There are a few different kinds and they do fill and work differently. There are many videos on youtube. Try searching for "using an ego"

Thank you Less, Dvx and Glo!!

I can't get ahold of my sis and I have no clue how to start with this eGo. Is there a youtube video on how to fill it and start using?

Hi, Ann, and welcome.

I started with Blu, but realized I needed a lot more battery life. I agree, that Ego will be better.

Giving up cigs affects everyone differently. I get the sore tongue from time to time and I have read that others do, also. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water. That is a must as vaping can dry you out. Up your nicotine if you feel the need. Try sample bottles of different flavors to find something you really like. After vaping for a while you will be able to cut the nicotine level if you want.

Best of luck and keep on vaping. It really is worth it.

I started with the ego. I used 24mg nic juice and quitting was almost seamless for me. I tried the Blu and just about every other cig-alike. They didn't work at all for me. I hate to see you suffer needlessly. Try to find a choice that works for you and go with it. We are all different and therefore your case will be different. As far as the cough, it is probably the gunk you have been inhaling for years coming out. Your body will heal itself and this is one of the signs that it's on it's way! Yucky but positive. Keep after it and hang in there. Good luck and you will make it. It sounds like you really want to make it work. If so, it will!

Since I sort of itch with the VG (and not sure its because of that - the Blu has VG totally), I'm a little nervous about the PG....but we'll see. Anyway, here is what she sent me:

It's simple, first take the battery (purple or blue part) and screw it into the charger, (small black wire thingy) and plug the charger into the power supply (the one that plugs in the wall) When the battery is fully charged the little light on the charger will change from red to green.

The top section, (clearo) unscrew the top off it and fill with your liquid. When filling, pour down the side, the small center tube is the air passage. Close up the top and put a tissue on the bottom end, blow gently through it to be sure there's no liquid in the airway.

Screw the carto onto the charged battery, click the button 5 times quickly to be sure it's turned on. Then sit back, hold the button down and take a slow, gentle, long pull on the mouthpiece...and you're vapin'.....:vapor:

p.s. it's actually easier than it sounds written out in words....:2cool:

p.p.s. if you have a question or issue, just ask!!

Ok, looks pretty standard, ego batteries and CE4 clearomizers. You'll want to make sure the batteries are charged. If you need instructions on that, let us know.

For the clearomizers, pull out/unscrew the drip tip(black part that goes in your mouth) and drip the juice into the tank, being careful to avoid squirting it directly down the tube in the middle(that's for air). You can also search youtube for ce4 or stardust clearomizer videos.

Thank you everyone for the instructions! I may try it later - not sure why I'm such a chicken...like I said in another post I'm so hypersensitive to stuff the vg/pg stuff is worrisome. I know I'm not allergic to nicotine as long as I get the level right! My sis texted last night about 11 PM to help me (she is in another time zone) but I wasn't ready to start vaping at 11 PM at night!! Maybe earlier this evening.

Thank you Spazmelda for the offer! That might be the thing to do - meet in person to go over some basics and it might help me get over some of my silly fears too! So you live near Cincinnati? That's quite a ways from me...I'm about 3 hrs away I think, and 1 1/2 hr away from Columbus.

Oh that is quite a distance away. I thought I remembered you saying you were in Lancaster, but now I remember you said you were x miles from Lancaster. Must be in the other direction. Well, shoot.
