I just figured out Dr. B's method for determining whether a food is healthy for you: Does it taste good? Spit it out!

he's probably one of those dip$&%#s from PETA who will find any reason to tell people to stop eating meat, that or he's some Gore-tard who .........es to "an inconvenient truth" every night

Wow- Some people don't know how to write an article.

Cause, I'm gonna get flamed for saying this, but...there were some valid points in there, hiding behind the self-righteousness. Government subsidies of garbage food that nobody would buy or could sell (school lunches) ought to be stopped. We don't provide kids with other known health hazards with government funds...

But that point sort of gets lost when the headline is "don't have your picture taken with the hamburgler" or whatever it was.

Sigh,
Ande

being against subsidizing junk food to be put in lunches for kids is one thing. telling adults who are old enough to make their own decisions how to live their lives is quite another. This is just another step in the big picture of what people like this want: eliminate all lifestyles that they deem to be unhealthy, then at that point forcing government run "universal health care" down our throats. its the same with smoking. in these peoples minds, there needs to be completely government run health care, but in order for that to be viable, everybody needs to be tobacco free and eat nothing but tofu. it's all part of one big fear mongering ploy to make the world look like 1984.

Just googled him, Neal Barnard, M.D. peta, first hit "Barnard also writes a medical column for Animal Times, PETA's magazine. .... Neal Barnard, M.D., The Cancer Project, retrieved November 17, 2007 ...".
Good call on this guy.

nailed it. it's easy to spot those PETA douche bags. don't get me wrong, I hate people who abuse animals just as much as the next guy, and I have a dog myself and if anybody hurt him I'd beat the crap out of them, but the fact is, PETA takes it way too far. I remember hearing about this one town in Florida where there were alligators everywhere and PETA was opposed to anybody doing anything about it. Also, I'd like to point out that humans are animals too, and animals eat each other in the wild. for the most part the way we kill our prey before we eat them is a lot more humane than a pack of wolves ripping apart a baby deer while it's still alive.

Yup, I always wondered why wolves don't just graze on grass and eat tofu.

OT, somewhat, my golden doodle is always eating grass. At first I was concerned and expected him to throw up, thinking he had digestion issues. However, when he didn't I started thinking. For a few months when he was young I had him on a real food diet including vegetables. When I took him off it and gave him normal, quality dog food, he started balking at eating.

My gf was feeding her dog a vegetable/meat mix food that isn't the quality I like but Jack loved it so I put a handful of that with his regular food and eating issues are solved. Of course, he likes supplementing with my lawn. Developed a love for the greens I'm guessing.

It's interesting that as more people follow the guidelines of the diet dictocrats, the more we see rising rates of cancer, heart disease, diabetes and many other disorders. If you look back just a a few decades ago, these disaeases were rare. Clearly, the advice we are being given about what is healthy and what is not healthy is just plain wrong. For common sense, truthful, science-based advice about wise diet choices, please see The Weston A. Price Foundation

In a world of dietary advice insanity, the Weston A Price Foundation is essential to anyone who takes their health seriously. I also thoroughly recommend their cook book, Nourishing Traditions. It's more than a cook book because it also focuses on the lies, deception and greed of the food industry, and perfectly explains how we as a modern society have gotten ourselves into the health disaster that we are now experiencing.
