Can one use a standard atomizer with it, e.g. 801/901/510???????

crashtestjeep helped me on this one. The BE112 atty and the 801 are interchangable. crashtestjeep obtained an adapter to use the 510 atty from altsmoke.com. Check out a pic of that Here.

Excellent review. Especially for a first effort! I like your suggestions as well.

Keep us informed about its longevity, and any other issues you find with it.
( handling, temperature, the atomizer adjustment, button stability, etc. )

................

So far I haven't any issues. The lack of any kind of LED or indicator to let you know the battery needs charged required you to make sure you have another battery on hand already charged up. The battery that comes with the unit works and doesn't seem to drop off in vapor output. I've used the thing all day long with consistant performance. After 10 or 12 hours if the battery dies, it just falls down. You'll get a good vapor output one second and then nothing, at least my experience.

With another battery on hand it's really not an issue for me.

It's not really the point that it looks the same. The point people are trying to make is that someone spent a long long time trying to figure out a way to make this thing work the best it can and then after a lot of research and design put a product on the market that is extremely well made at a great price.

Then someone comes along with a load of money and copy's the internal mechanisms of it and all of it's design. There is much more to it then a tube, spring, and button. They have a lot of money so they constantly have a banner, they have a cheap inferior product that is dangerous, and they can pump them out cheap. I don't understand why people must defend them and not the small guy that for about the same price has something that he put his heart into, but I don't want to threadjack either. I just want people to know there's more to this then at first glance. Also, im not affiliated with either party, im just giving my observations.

With the DSE 905, the Chinese have entered the fray, so all this will eventually be moot... the domestic manufacturers who've established a solid reputation will be the only ones left standing... those who haven't... bye...

Your not trying to say the Chinese copied someones idea are you ?

God help them if they come on this forum with it.

It's already on these boards... looks pretty much identical to the Screwdriver, which IIRC is basically a refashioned Chinese flashlight anyway... and considering the Chinese are the only manufacturers of atomizers and produce 99.99827872% of e-liquid, I think they'll be fine...

Oh, and it's selling for $45... so I'd like to reiterate, bye...

I wonder what happened to all the other winners? Our reviews are the only ones Ive seen...Hmm...

They probably decided not to do one if the review couldn't be a review on the product in hand without turning into some kind of crusade on whom makes a better aluminum tube with threads on each end and a button.

that may be true, but then why is the original so far superior to it's look alike?

I think anyone that has a problem with the McDonald-Webb product, in my opinion should use the search feature and find the McDonald-Webb thread and complain about it or rave about your fanboy preferences on there thread and let them answer you.

The reviews were simply reviews done by those who agreed to do them for McDonald-Webb not invitations for fanboys to complain.

Is it superior ? That's your opinion. I'll be the first to admit, as I did in my review I'm not fond of the appearance of the SP2 compared to some other mods. It also didn't take weeks to get to me either.

It works, so is it really that much inferior ? Others seem to have performance issues as well, even if they do have a nicer finish.

The Screwdriver as I understand it was the first production mod, right ?
If that's the case then ever mod after it is a knock off, yet when I scan the forums I don't see the amount of negativity toward any other Mod that this one received.

5 people got an SP2 to review, I've seen 3 so far. The other 2 probably didn't do their review simply because of the grief some people bring into a simple review thread.

I've ask this before and got completely ignored so how about I ask it on an open thread.

How about anyone that feels offended by anyone reviewing this PV because they feel like it's a knock off of their own agree to send those 5 that won a SP2 to review from McDonald Webb their own Piece for a side by side comparison.

I'd do it, I've said I'd do it if it is that much of an issue, but like I said, I got completely ignored at my request.

To be honest, I'd spend 99.99 on the SP2 before I'd wait weeks and weeks for a nicer finish at a higher price that does exactly the same thing- vaporize e-liquid.

We won these thhings, we didnt manufacture them....I agree with Nyz....we should all respect each other and if there are issues that deal with design, please inquire with the manufacturers. We were sent these in return for a review along with our hard work for making winning banners. We earned the winnings and the right for a respected review. Im not getting into ethics here, as I do not know what the real story is and frankly to me, Im leaving it to the manufacturers and the public to make thier own decisions/actions.

Im just saying this is simply a review. And, IMO, this thread should remain respected as such.

As an add to my review. I got some wadding aluminum polish and polished up the SP2 very nice.

Some Noalox ant-galling compound on the threads and a really thin coat on the button also makes a world of difference with the button operation and thread engagement.

On the advice of crashtestjeep I got the 801-510 adapter with some stainless 510 attys.

This things like using a supercharged M401 configured with the 510.

Check this post.

$79.99 isn't bad for this deal

Well since this thread consistantly gets derailed anyway, I'll get into ethics. If someone wants to scream ethics foul, why wouldn't they want the two products compared side by side ? Part for part ?

Maybe there actually are design differences that make each piece unique to the person that designed it.

The only people that would know this for certain would be anyone who owns the SP2 and the device everyone want's to talk about in an SP2 review thread.

Let's compare Chevrolet's and Cadillacs. I like the Chevy because it does what the Cadillac does exactly the same, without all the fancy non-essential add-ons.

I dont understand, the way I saw this play out was someone casually mention that they thought it was messed up how this maker stole someones idea because it wasn't patented and then a bunch of guys jumped down his throat and a few others about how people should get to make whatever they want and let us do a review... then I said I was trying to explain the other side of the coin and got eaten for it... ok thats cool i left it at that.. then a couple weeks later dude comes back for more and digs up a dead thread to chew me some more... god i dont think people even care near as much as you defenders make it out to be. I just said it was a little messed up how they try to undermine the small guy. It has nothing to do with ethics or gm's and caddy's... imma leave it at that you can keep going on if you want i dont care.

Honestly leave the reviewers alone. People will come to their own conclusions. I actually bought one myself ( flame away) and it's a good solid mod and I'm proud to say I have one.
Seriously I don't see the relation between the 2 except for a mechanical switch on the bottom. There are only so many way's to do these things really.
To me these don't look the same imo.
