The more I read about the anti ecig movement going on in state and local and fed government, the more I see the utter lunacy of it all! It is in the news all the time now, some jerk is always trying to regulate every thing about ecigs, when smoking is still 100% legal and sale of tobacco is legal. It is so twisted and lunatics running around with all this fear mongering I have had it with them all. There is just no logic anymore, some person thinks they can regulate or outright ban it like Bloomberg when he doesn't get it, ecigs save smokers lives every single day. bnrk

Sorry had to get that off my chest! LOL

I feel your pain, bnrk! What's especially scary is that while we vapers are all too aware of what the prohibitionist fanatics are attempting, on all levels, I think it's mostly happening under the radar of the general population. We are a vocal minority, and the non-professional anti-smokers (who equate ecigs with smoking) are a vocal minority, but my impression is that most non-smokers and even a lot of vapers, aren't aware of what's happening and probably don't really care.

Heck, I have to admit that even I get so frustrated at times and tired of rebutting stupid, biased comments, that I'm tempted to sit back and monitor my lifetime stash of nic juice in the freezer and just say to hell with it. Fortunately, those periods of depression don't last too long and I'm back to burning the keyboard with vaper's zeal! /rant

The ANTZ always find a way to twist things to make whatever they are against look horrendous. They claim it's a truck driver's fault when it was the sports car that ran up under the trailer that was PARKED, they claim legal owners of firearms that have passed background checks and don't even have so much as a speeding ticket are at fault when there are shootings by criminals with illegally obtained guns. They claim allowing same gender marriage somehow defiles hetero couples marriages. And they claim water vapor is harmful when it comes out of out mouths but, not when it comes out of the steamy shower they love.

That's how those groups work, they blame the majority that are not causing any problems or harming anyone (but possibly themselves slightly) for what is the fault of a tiny handful that are doing it wrong and we all pay the price for the stupidity of the few.

Taxes, loss of government revenue and BT/pharma getting bloody noses. That's all it comes down to.

I'm just gonna take the pizza, frozen chips (fries to my cousins across the pond) and ice cream out of the freezer and fill her up with liquid. I've got my priorities straight

The squeaky wheel gets the grease, and the ANTZ are some of the squeakiest wheels in the world.
They have spent decades studying how to be as squeaky as possible and forumulating plans on how to squeak as loudly as possible.

If we want to keep what we have we are going to have to do some squeaking ourselves.
And I'm not sure we are doing enough of it.

By quitting smoking, the federal government has lost the chance to claim about $250 in taxes from my pocket per year. The state of Kentucky has lost about $150 per year. And that's just from me. Those little dollar amounts add up quickly as more people fully transition from analog to electronic.

It's definitely better for them to keep people addicted to analogs. Mo money.

The court case against the FDA was a big win for e-cigs. The fact it is now a $1 billion dollar industry doesn't hurt either. Support CASSA, promote research that shows the safety of e-cigs. Write your congress-critter at both the state and federal levels. Share success stories. Don't vape where it will cause trouble. Work on putting vaping in a positive light. Don't do anything dangerous and work at educating new vapers *cough* Ohm's law *cough*. Promote e-cigs as risk reduction alternative to smoking. Convert your friends who smoke; there is power in numbers.

Do expect some regulations about verifying the amount of nicotine in your juices (this is a good thing). Expect to eventually get taxed.

BT cant sleep at night knowing they are missing out on the ecig sales, they are going crazy. They missed out on 250 million on sales already.

As of 2009, the tobacco industry makes around $90.7 billion in sales. Approximately $83.6 billion of this was spent on cigarettes. This is an industry that will continue to make this amount of money because tobacco is bought worldwide.

There are those among us who think everything should be done according to what they think should or should not be. When we elect these people and allow them the authority to enforce their views we get these types of things.

Dont elect people to do what you should do for your self! We have a gazillion laws and regulations! So many know one can possibly know and or follow them.

I will not vote for one more politician who says we need this or that law or rule. I will vote for politicians who think our government is out of control and needs to be reduced drastically.

I am in no way whatsoever claiming that there is anything harmful about exhaled vapor; BUT IT IS NOT JUST WATER VAPOR! If it was, everyone would be exhaling visible vapor 24/7/365 and not just while outside on a cold winter day.

I agree. Someone show me the study that says exhaled vapor is H2O.

It only takes one person to start a revolution.

From what I've seen/read I'm under the belief that it's all about image. After spending years making smokers into pariahs and demonizing smoking along come E-Cigs to shatter the evil image. I was vaping at a coffee shop a week or so ago and a lady complained to the management first that I was smoking cigarettes inside, when she was told I wasn't smoking that I was vaping she then said that she could smell my cigarette smoke and she was told, (by a barrista who also vapes) that she couldn't smell 'cigarette smoke' from me (I was vaping HHV Powder Keg which smells/tastes like an almond joy candy bar) and she lastly complained that it 'looked like I was smoking'.

And we have the flip side of the coin we have rights to if a business says we are welcome to vape there are we not in the right to do so? Wouldn't this lady be in the wrong. Its not the current public opinion but I think if we use patience and try to explain to each and every anti person we run accost its not smoking. Sooner or later the opinion will shift.

Id imagine the lady was first up in arms you were smoking then she dose not want to look foolish by complaining and being wrong. I think we've all been there in some form or another.

Typical smoke nazi reaction (that usually comes down to "It looks like smoking and I don't like it so stop it!"). Liked hearing that your barista stood up for vaping!
