Hello hello. Brand new to the forums here but not so much to vaping.

Ive mostly been dripping straight into the atty when at home and I couldn't be happier with my e cig experience. When I go out though it's a little bit of a hassle to have to lug all my gear with me, so I wanted an easier way. I was looking at getting something like this: Smoktech 6ml Tank Dual Coil Cartomizer Clear With Drip Tip

But then I saw this: Low Resistance eGo Vision Star Dust

it seems like I'd have to worry less about leaking or dripping with the stardust. In your experience, is there any benefit of going the cartomizer/tank route or would the stardust be the way to go?

Btw, I'm vaping on an ego and yes, I'm aware that the two I've shown have different resistances. I'm not so much worried about standard vs low resistance as much as the advantages/disadvantages of the system itself.

Thanks for your help and I hope I can contribute to this amazing forum! :D

The Stardust gets good reviews, but doesn't hold as much as the DCT. The DCT's are, IMO, not a very good tank system. If you want the capacity of a DCT, look at the Mom & Pop tank or the J Tank. Both are far better than the DCT. The best thing about the DCT tank is the price.

Here's another option. I use these and I love them. They'll fit anything with a 510 connector and hold about as much as a DCT without the hassle of punching cartos or having the carto slip out and make a big mess. It's the Vison Stone 3. They have replaceable guts, although mine have lasted for a month so far. You can see them at Gotvapes.com but other places have them as well. I like them better than any tank I've tried, especially the DCT. They cost about the same as a DCT, but they're much better in every way, IMO.

Thanks for the quick help :D

The amount of liquid that it holds isn't really a huge deal to me. I'm not a very heavy vaper so I feel like the stardust system would last me at least until I got home. I saw the vision stone 3 as well but figured it was pretty much the same deal as the stardust. I just liked the fact that the stardust was more streamlined in relation to the ego battery and wouldn't stick out as much as the stone would.

Do you feel like the vision stone would be a noticeable improvement or would they both be comparable?

hey man i dont know about the stardust ive seen some good reviews on utube , i use a 3mil tank with xl dual coil from vapor kings i cut them my self with a dremmel tool , for me its better than punching a hole cause i tend to chain vape so it keeps my coils nice and wet,ive also tried the smoke tek single coil and boge single coil but they were very inconsistent and i tried about 15 of each , you just have to jump in the pool to find out what works for you , the cartos are cheap about 7-10 bucks for 5 carts which is a hellova difference than attys which can be 5bucks and up , just know dual coils are battery hogs ,i use a provari with the 18650 at 1600mah and it will only last 1/2 to 3/4 of a day hope this helps

I never used the Stardust because I don't have an ego (hmm...I forgot. Yes I do, but I don't use it much)..Anyway, I never used it so I'm only going by what I've heard. If you go to the Gotvapes forum in the vendor section, there's a lot of info on it. Some people complain of cracking and leaking, but people complain about everything, so you have to take it with a grain of salt.

All I can say is that I'm extremely happy with the Vision Stone. I'm not even going to bother with tanks. Both the Stardust and the Stone are CE2 based, with the coil in a cup at the top. The thing I like about the Stone is that it's a solid item and you can replace the whole coil/wick/tube assembly for $2.50. I believe the Stardust is disposable. At least I've never seen the innards for sale. The Stone is supposed to hold 5ml, but 3.5 is probably more accurate. It's just very well built and, for the price, is a way better deal than the DCT.
