Hey everyone, I'm new here. Anytime I google a question that's e-cig related I end up on this site, so I decided it was time to join. I tried to start vaping a year ago, and got a blu starter kit...FAIL. I was cigarette free for about a week, but the constant charging got annoying and I gave up on it. Last month I decided to try again so I picked up a 650mah ego-c kit. I didn't really like the tank system so i started using my old blu cartos and refilling them. Since then I got some 3ohm 510 boges, a smoktech EMDCC, and a vision clearomizer v3 (i think its a CE4+), all from altsmoke. I really like this clearomizer when it works, but most of the time when i first pick it up its harsh as hell. I've ordered more boges because of how easy they are to use, but I would like to know which direction to go with the clearomizer. Can anybody help?

Hi and welcome to ECF. 2.8 is too high for the eGo as it fires at 3.3 volts. Should be using either a 1.8 or 2.4 ohms clearo. I use the Stardust and the Vivi and find the Mini Vivi Nova is better. Your clearo may also be the short wick which means you have to tilt the tank every so often to keep the wicks saturated.

Clearomizer- a plastic or metal tank with a wick and element. Contains NO stuffing. The rebuildbles come with heads (coil+ wick) that can be cheaply and easily replaced. When the head burns out simply unscrew the old head out and screw in new head- takes 10 secs. My heads are lasting about 4 weeks BUT I wash the heads every few days. I've found the Vivi Nova to give the best draw.

Here's a great deal with 3 heads ($8.95)- at bottom of page- 2.0 ml or 3.5 ml...2.0 ml looks better on eGo:
ElectronicStix.Com : Vision Vivi Nova Tanks and Parts

And here's a chart to help figure out ohms to voltage

Thank you for the fast reply, and yes its the long wick version. Strangely, it works perfect when there's around .2ml. And other times when its kinda full i can puff on it repeatedly to warm it up before inhaling and its not too harsh, but i think I'm wasting too much liquid doing that. Once i get my next paycheck I'll have to check into getting a vivi nova, or maybe some lower ohm wicks for my current clearo. Do you have any experience with the wickus from vapininthecape? It looks like it has a different design around the wick that I haven't seen yet.

With the eGo you want to stay with LR DC cartos like 1.5ohm or single coil like the 1.7ohm. They work better than higher ohm cartos on the eGo. You can get the 3ml DCT and get pre-punched cartos for less topping off or less filling.

The Vivi Novas work good they come with 3 heads 1.8, 2.4, & 2.8 ohms. The lower 2 will probably work the best. To take advantage of higher ohm cartos or clearos you need a variable voltage battery (vv) or mod.

You're welcome. Have you been washing it? I wash mine every few days and unfortunately Clearos and Vivs have to be washed every so often. The 2.8 ohms clearo is only meant for much much higher voltage PVs. If it's rebuildable you could buy extra heads at a lower ohms. When I go to altsmoke and choose the spare head the drop down menu doesn't show anything in regards to oms selection.

Edit: now their drop down is showing 3.2 and 4.0 ohms...these are only to be used with extremely high voltage PVs.

Thanks, I went with 3 ohm at first because i still have the blu batteries, and read if you use anything lower than 2.5ohm it'll fry the battery. I have been thinking about getting a DCT but can't decide which one. I like the ones with the ego threads but somebody said they leak. Does it make much difference, or is there a DCT that is superior?

For the Blu you should be using standard res accessories- 2.4 ohms. Problem right now is Boge and Smok Tech are having quality control issues and I wouldn't recommend buying them- horrible taste, burning out in 1 or 2 days. Withe the eGo- C you should be having agreat vape with 2.0 ohms accessories.

Yes it is the rebuildable one. I haven't cleaned it yet, I've been waiting for more liquid of the same flavor. I also didn't think cleaning it would be a big deal since i've only been using one flavor in it. But its just been sitting there for a few days with the juice in the wicks, now that i think about it, it might be a little gunky in there haha. thanks

Before giving it up I would seriously suggest you buy some 1.8 or 2.4 ohm heads. Will make a world of difference IMO. Altsmoke should be stating on their website that the ohms they are selling are only meant for higher VV PVs.

Are vivi nova heads compatible? Like i said earlier, I'm pretty sure this is a CE4+.

Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping. As you've already noticed you can find a wealth of information on this site. I usually buy my clearos from "gotvapes.com" but there is a world of suppliers out there. And your in the right place to start.

Thank you, tnt56. Do you recommend the liquid from gotvapes? I kinda just chose the site i did because they offered samples for cheap and had all the stuff i wanted to order. I'd like to find one steady supplier for all my ecig need.

Yes yours is a rebuildable Stardust. Some people say they are the same heads but I gave my Stardusts away. I do remember the Stardusts head had a silicon cap on it whereas the Vivi has a silicon "tube" on the head.

It has a small metal cone on top, if the vivi doesn't tapir in like that i doubt they're the same, because that cone goes up into the mouthpiece to make the seal.
