Any ideas on whats going on?

I got the ipv mini 30w yesterday and had the batteries charging for a full charge. My question is, when i put the battery in and tighten the cap all the way, the ipv won't turn on. But if i just screw it probably half way in it will turn on. Do you guys think i have a defective unit or should it be like that?

Hello, No it shouldn't be like that.

Just wondering if you have more than one battery and if it does it with all of them? Button top or flat top?

its just one battery, 18650 flat top. I got 2 of those batteries yesterday for that ipv and with both batteries it does that.

Well if you have use a different battery and yet its still the same. I say its a defect im sure it could be a easy fix or not lol. But I would just bring it back to where you bought it and they could help you better. GL

I would take it back to where you purchased, that is not normal
