Any inexpensive mods support single 21700 and decent TC?

Whoa @GeorgeS, don't click buy just yet.

I have heard that some folks were having issues with TC on the Ehpro Cold Steel.

But there's the Vandy Vape Jackaroo and the new Maxus 100W mod from Freemax to add to the list as well.

But someone was recently doing TC tests on the forum and in tests the newer Geekvape chipsets aren't too shabby at all for TC, so the Aegis Max looks like it may be a good contender.

I found the chip in the aegis I had to be more than capable enough at TC, and if the squonker took a 21700, I'd have kept it. If the Aegis Max squonked, I'd buy one.
For the price, I doubt you'd find better.

If your looking for a 21700 TC Squanker mod, the Eleaf Pico Squeeze 2 can still be bought. (can run the ArticFox firmware as well)

I have a bunch of them in service.

I was looking at that one very seriously, and enjoy arctic fox and red panda a great deal, but opted to give the ABM-1S a shot.

I have tried to search for this, do you know where I can find it? I would be extremely thankful if you could :)

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I have the Pico 21700 mod (not the squonker). Again, I don't use it in TC mode. But you can install arctic fox firmware on it so I imagine it might make it a good TC mod of Eleaf's firmware is not to your liking.

It's not huge, it's only s;ightly bigger than the original 18650 75W Pico, but it's not as small in the hand as the Cold Steel since it's a different form factor.

Thanks for that, I did not know that Eleaf had a non-squonker Pico 21700. While Fasttech was out of them I found some elsewhere.

With the Artic Fox firmware the iStick provides good enough TC and the size and build quality is decent enough (not plastic). I tend to like the top 'battery door' on the Picos. :)

    Thanks again!

... and to everyone who responded :)

Im a temperature control researcher, and can give you definite answers on this backed with evidence (see here for latest TC tests and a list of mods tested so far imgur.com/a/KQKCH1H). Please note that YiHi powered devices "tempearture stripe" and often exceed the set temperature, because they are based on PWM, which gives a wide range of temperature outcomes (they cant control the power, only distance between pulses), so its not flat like a DC mod. Any DNA powered board will be great (mirage, odin mini). Only geekvape mods with the Nuvoton chipset work properly, everything else seems to perform badly so far. Probably dont bother with vaporesso, their temperature control is some of the worst I have seen so far. Smok is actually really good, once you configure the TCR correctly. Probably avoid VooPoo because of an 80W limit in temperature control. Innokin is very hit-and-miss. Avoid DiCodes (this will shock many, but their 21700 powered Dani25 mod is a temperature control disaster, see empirical data I have published). Initial testing of istick mods has not shown great results, full testing coming soon. I havent tested cold steel yet, so no comment there.
