Anyone ever drill-out the air holes or do anything to improve airflow?
I have thought about this a lot. Liv2Ski, you said you made the hole bigger. Did it help. If it did I might try it on some of my old attys.
I've drilled out the plastic disc hole in a 510, drilled out the two side holes near the atomizer threads, and enlarged the 4 slots on the battery connector. Worked great for me, I disliked the hard pull on stock parts. I used a pin vise and number-indexed drill bits, no need to use power tools. Jeweler's file on the slots.
Done it on some LR510's...bored them to 5/64". Dremel on lowest speed possible.
You don't even need a drill...most are made of brass or a similar soft metal. A sharp nail and a bit of persistance is all that's needed. Be careful though as a little goes a long way. You can always do more, but can't undo...
Yes matthawk7 that will work but there is a certain level of satisfaction in firing up a powertool even though a non powered one will do the trick. Also, if I don't plug something in once in awhile and amke some noise my wife starts to ask "why do you need all those tools????".
OK, I got one-
I used a metal nail file to "saw" deeper groves at the top of my ego battery. Works great!
I revived an undrilled Atty a few weeks ago and tried this
And to my dismay I drilled a fraction too far..so just make sure you go slow and check how far you've gone or you'll end up with a 7dollar practice piece..

What happened when you went to far. Did you cut a wire or something?
You guys might be able to use 808 connectors if any of you are using 901's to increase air flow. They cost a dollar or so.
