Any reason not to love "The Don"?

I'm about to buy my first mod, and I think I have literally looked at every option out there. I am just about convinced that I'm getting a Megalodon come payday. I like that you can change the size so easily, and that it's VV based on the battery selection.

I guess I just wonder why I don't hear about them as much as some others, like the Pro Vari (which is a very sweet looking mod btw) or SB.

Any praises or complaints or just experiences in general would be appreciated.

There are actual 5v batteries now?
And they fit in just about any mod that uses an 18650 battery?

Wow, so I went looking for it and found it here...
5 Volt NIMH Battery for The Mako Maksi

And it even looks like it is a protected battery.

I wonder if you can charge it on a normal 18650 charger?
I wonder if I can use it in my Chuck?

I have had a "Don" for about four weeks, and I really like it. It can be small, for 18350 or 16340 batts; or longer for 18650 or 5v batts. The finish is good. Adjustment for most batts is pretty easy - a few turns of the adjustment screw which is recessed in the button. I do have a bit of trouble with some 18350 batts that I have, when using the Don without the extension tube. These particular batts are a wee bit long, and I have to leave the Don partially unscrewed as well as run the adjustment screw all the way out.
But the 18650s fit nicely with the extension tube - but with some high drain batts that I have, I have to run the screw all the way in - they're a bit short almost.
The 5v batts are cool, and work well, but they are only 400mah, so they won't last very long. And you will need the 5v charger for them. Also, since they are much smaller in diameter than the 18 series batts, they are a bit loose inside the tube - but that hasn't caused me any problems.
My only other comments: 1. it is for the moment my main vape, but...I am excited about a GLV2 that I will be getting soon. 2. I have some Boge 2.0 ohm cartos that will not make a connection in the Don. I've had to put a 510 to 808 connector on the Don, then an 808 to 510 connector on that, and then the Boge 2.0 carto. But it does work that way.
Even with the GLV2 that I am awaiting, I think the Don will remain in my regular rotation for it's versatility.
Hope this helps.

Buzzy thank you so much. That was very helpful. I watched a couple videos. Grimm was having some issues getting an atomizer to fit just right too. I'll probably go ahead and get some connectors incase I run into the same issue as you.

The kit comes with a couple 18650's. I'll probably go ahead and get a couple sets of the 3V cr123As and a charger for them, just so I'll have the option for both right off the bat. And I have a sinking feeling that this will be the first of many more mods to come, so I might as well have some different battery options.

I just feel like for my first mod, I'd like the have some options, instead of committing to either/or on the voltage. I think it looks pretty sharp. My wife said she couldn't see herself vaping on it at a bar or anything, but I would. She can just take a regular battery for herself if she doesn't want to have to use The Don. Then after her battery is long dead, she'll be begging to use it.
