This will be my first purchase and I'm curious to hear from any of you who have any experience with either of these vendors and their product. Both of these products LOOK like a typical 4081 model but im really not sure what they are...im interested in knowing if either of these vendors products are reasonably problem-free and also how good their customer service is. Im on the fence as to which one I should go with... Vaporcig 2000 or the Be-Smoke-Free Starter Kit? Thank you! Dave

BSF is a high price company that spams all over the net saying they're all for charity. The other company has a few fans here for their other model, are also higher priced. Most of the folks here don't spend 2-4 times the price when they can buy from sellers who post here regularly and deliver quickly, or retail in their neighborhood... so they have nothing to say about the brands you mention.

thats odd...i didnt notice vaporcig or BSF charging 4x what everyone else is charging for their kits. Vaporcig is perhaps double but they do give an extra atomizer in the kit (2 included) AND they seem to warranty the atomizers and batteries which I havent seen any other USA based sellers doing yet. I thought the warranty might be important because i see so many users here suffering from broken and defective parts...its as if no matter what or who you buy from its just a matter of time before something breaks, if not out of the box. Therefore im expecting to have some problems and thought buying from a seller that warranties might be a wise thing to do, no? Are there any other USA based sellers who offer to warranty their parts and offer phone support?...Ive been looking at so many the past 2 nites my eyes are tearing :) Thanks again Dave

Hangar, I'm going to quote myself, from a post I made recently:

"Stike, think about it: Say you pay $150 for an SE ecig in the mall. Even if they honor your warranty and are still around for the year, every time your atomizer fails you have to go get another, and who knows how much trouble you might have getting them to honor it if you have a whole string of failures.

Contrast that with $30 for a great penstyle from Best Ecig, for example. Then at the same time, you spend some of that $100 you saved (would be $120 but I'm deducting for shipping), and add some atomizers to your order. Five for $30, so you get 15 of them. You still have enough money left for 20 ml liquid, or if you want to go $5 over, 35 ml of liquid. How long do you think you can make those 15 atomizers last? And no begging if any die, no waiting to get your replacement, at all.

Which sounds like the better deal?"

So, just substitute my $150 figure for a SE mall ecig with however much those two places that you are asking about charge ($100 or more?), and modify accordingly. You'd still be way ahead financially, I bet.

And even if you really didn't want to buy from China, many of the US retailers that Jamie was talking about sell kits for $45 to $60 in any event. And some with warranties too.

It just doesn't make sense to go for the higher priced ecigs, IMO, when they are not any better in quality.

Hi Dave,

I have the Vapor 1000, not the 2000. If you do a search for Vapor 1000 there are a couple of different threads. I remember at least one person that decided to trade in the 2000 for the 1000 that was looking for more vapor. The nice thing is that Vaporcig.com has a 30 day guarantee on their kits, so if you decide to try the 2000 and decided you don't like it you can send it back for a refund, or try out the 1000 model.

Personally, I do think a long warranty is a big deal... and vaporcig has terrific customer service... and quick replacement of any defective parts. I've been using e-cigs since January and can't tell you how many atomizers & batteries I've gone through on my 901 model. Many times they would go out right after my 14 day warranty was up.. and I'm tired of stockpiling parts!

Jamie mentioned the vaporcig web site saying the batteries have a 6 month warranty, but if you go to the link thread (below) that was posted by Marian when she announced her company here back in January, she states life-time warranty and atomizers, and 1 year on batteries. I have emailed customer service to verify the 1 year warranty on batteries. It could be that this longer warranty is just for forum members (and the reason it is not on the web site) and Marian was also offering a free 15 ml of juice to forum members only (so it has to be requested in the comment box when ordering, or by emailing them.)

If you have other questions the contact info will be on their web site, and they are always happy to help. :)

yvilla, tobay - thanks for the idea but to be honest I have no interest in having to deal with over-seas suppliers for such a low ticket item that I will most probably be ordering from on a monthly basis, or at least with some regularity. For me its not worth the hassle having to wait the extra time for shipping and then worrying about customs delays all to save maybe $100-$150/year. As far as USA based kits go, the average cost seems to be around $50...but then if you add the cost of having to buy perhaps 10 atomizers per year (if not more, im not sure how many ill end up going through) @ an average of $9.99 plus some broken batteries along the way, it can easily add up to an extra $200/yr just keeping the hardware in working order (and maybe even more from what im reading)...so thats at least $250 for my first year in hardware expense. Meanwhile If I pay a bit more from lets say VaporCig...its $100 for a 2atomizer 2battery kit and a years worth of warranty on both parts which means my first years hardware cost stays at $100 which ends up being a savings...or at least thats the way it seems...although i DO agree on the point you brought up regarding not knowing just how long these places will remain in good standing or even if they'll be around for an entire year. My main concern is QUALITY...and since it seems nearly impossible to attain that hardware-wise with this particular type of product, its VERY important to me that I get quality in SERVICE. I want easy simple PHONE support, I want an address (not a po box) and when the garbage breaks on me I want my supplier to ship me out a new piece right away instead of having to wait until he receives my return (id gladly give my credit info so they feel secure in knowing they can always charge it incase they didnt get the return). For me its a good balance of cost vs convenience...and with a poorly manufactured product like this i feel its important to have a really good supplier/seller who I can trust and depend on to do me right...mostly because thats what MY customers demand of ME, AND because im a VERY loyal customer who doesnt typically stray. I want someone I can stick with for a long time who will do their best to take care of my needs IMMEDIATELY because I dont have the time to think or worry about such things with everything else going on day to day. Mixxy, Jamie - thanks for that info!...and yes, I DID come across VaporGuys and am considering them as well. Their site is easy to read, easy to navigate, it has their phone number right at the top of the front page (gee, what a concept, huh? lol), they seems to do their best at nipping problems right away with no delay (from what ive been reading) and theyre reasonably priced as well. They're one of the very few ive noticed so far that seem to know how to setup a web biz properly (dont you hate the ones that seem to "hide" behind a curtain and dont want anyone to know who they really are or where they live?, hehe) sorry for the long post folks!...but hey, my wife ( a NON smoker) is really counting on me to come through with the goods on this one :)))) Thanks again for all your help...truly appreciated! Dave

Well Hangar, best of luck to you. We all have different preferences, and that's okay.

But I tell you, I'm feeling very happy and secure knowing I have a whole lot of atomizers (bought @ $5 each) sitting on my shelf right now. I doubt I'll be ordering again for more than a year. :D

Mine are penstyles, but the same principle would apply to 901s.

You can order from China (Best Ecig or Ruyan Direct - $40.00 for 5 and $6.00 per one respectively on 901 atomizers).

Or, you can inquire privately of some of the US suppliers about making a bulk buy. A bulk buy would really mean "bulk" however, so you have to want to and be prepared to buy a really large number of atomizers if you find a supplier willing to go that route.

The original question mentioned be-smoke-free, so I just wanted to chime in very briefly and say that I have some experience with Smoke Free (be-smoke-free.com), and it's been very positive. They're charging a little over $70 for what I've worked out to be a version of the super mini (don't quote me on this, too new still!), and though the first unit I received didn't perform very well, they've since updated to a newer model, and sent me the new model to replace the original when I wasn't happy with it - and even offered to replace all of the cartridges I'd bought with the old one since they weren't compatible. And just so I'm clear, I am absolutely ecstatic with Smoke Free's customer service.

Admittedly without many reference points, the new version is smooth and stable, and much more reliable overall than the pilots I ordered around the same time. I'm not getting a ton of vapor with it, but it feels like a reasonable amount, and it feels like smoking a regular cigarette for the most part. It's a smooth, consistent hit, with a 5 second cut off, but it only blinks the LED instead of disabling the power, and can be used again almost immediately. The cartridge has an interesting design that seems to be geared towards improving airflow, and it shows.

I'll try to post some more detail when I get home later - I was planning on posting a short review anyway, so if i can get it done I'll do so and then post the link here.

Thanks,
Tim

OK. so ruling out the Overseas suppliers/Customs, Etc, and sticking to all US suppliers, the bottom line is this...
Warranty Vs Price
Higher Initial Cost with less residuals VS Lower Initial Cost with potentially higher residuals...
Comes down to a business decision...
And the winner is?
