as of right now the salt lake city location is on hold. I spent most of yesterday in the capitol building in salt lake in meetings etc trying to find common ground and avoid a indoor ban of e cigs and hooka.. They are pretty hard headed so until the legislative session is over and a vote has been cast I'm not moving forward with the location. But i did have one picked out on 67th south and state street.

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]HB 245 - AMENDMENT TO DEFINITION OF SMOKING IN UTAH
Link to HB 245

This bill would:
Ban the use of e-cigarettes in any public place where smoking is prohibited.

A bill has been introduced into the Utah State Legislature which would add the use of electronic cigarettes to the definition of smoking. It has been referred to the House Government Operations Committee. The bill is on the agenda to be discussed at a Committee meeting on Wednesday, February 1st, at 8am. Public comments will be allowed from any attendees wishing to speak. We strongly encourage local electronic cigarette users to attend and comment at the meeting. If you would like assistance with what to say, please contact us at board@casaa.org.

Please call or write the members of the House Government Operations Committee listed below.

What to say:
1. You oppose the inclusion of electronic cigarettes in HB 245.

2. Tell your story on how switching to an e-cigarette or smokeless tobacco has changed your life.

3. Explain how electronic cigarette use is easy to distinguish from actual smoking. Although some e-cigarettes resemble real cigarettes, many do not. It is easy to tell when someone lights a cigarette, from the smell of smoke. E-cigarette vapor is practically odorless, and generally any detectable odor is not unpleasant and smells nothing like smoke.

4. Let them know that vapor does not behave in the same manner as smoke. There is no "side stream" vapor like the side stream smoke coming from the lit end of a cigarette. There is also no ash or litter. With so little evidence of use, enforcing indoor use bans on electronic cigarettes would be nearly impossible.

5. Inform them that the ability to use electronic cigarettes in public spaces will actually improve public health by inspiring other smokers to switch. Surveys of thousands of users indicate that the majority of those who switch, completely replace tobacco cigarettes with the electronic cigarettes, reducing their health risks by 98-99%.

6. Tell them that by switching to a smokeless product, you have greatly reduced your health risks.

7. Direct them to the CASAA.org website for more information.

They're tentatively planning on voting on Thursday at 2pm. They've changed the language in it slightly to try and appease some of the opposition from businesses. They're still planning on classifying vaping as smoking, meaning that it would be banned anywhere that smoking is prohibited, but the exception would be in retail e-cig shops for the purpose of demonstration, and only using 0.0% nic liquids. From my understanding, they've also offered hooka bars a 5 year extension before hookas are included in the indoor smoking ban. Because they've made that exception, I heard the hooka guy will support the bill. That somewhat thins out the amount of people who will show up against the bill, so we really need every vaper we can get to show up against this.
