I only have mini DUD's, and am considering picking up some of the new AGA-W's that have a larger top cap. For those that have different sized rba's, do you have a preference in vape quality between say a mini DID, and a Z- atty for example?

I don't have a preference, vape wise. Portability wise, I prefer the DuDs. I take them out and about with me. The AGA-Ts stay home. They are a nice "sit in the lounge chair and vape away" type unit. Kinda like I used to enjoy a big Churchill cigar. But they are a little bulky and heavy to carry around. The DuDs, on a Mini Provari, are my constant traveling companion.
I pretty much only use the AGA-Ts at home due to weight. I use Chids & Chobras when I'm out & about. A lot of the time I'll just carry a couple of Twists w/ Chids on top. I get a nice warm vape at reasonable voltages (for the Twist) with the Chids set up @ ~2Ω. The AGAs are a bit cooler at similar ohms & voltages, so I either lower the ohms or crank up the voltage to get the 'same' vape - warmth & flavor-wise.
So it seems the consensus is small cap= warmer vape which makes total sense. Aside from the warmth, I would think the flavor would be more concentrated with a smaller cap. Air-fuel mixture so to speak.

I never really thought about it scientifically, but probably the smaller cap doesn't have enough surface area to dissipate the heat. The caps on the DiD Clones gets pretty warm. At any rate, they provide a nice warm vape.
