If youre handy, you can disassemble the inside of the Reos pretty easily. Push the button in until you can grab the firing spring and bend the spriing GENTLY down, the button will fall into the Reo. Pick up the button and witha pair of pliers gently squeeze the pin into the button- then reassemble. I've done it on 2 out of the 3 grands I have owned.

I removed the safety from my mini like this basically except I extracted the pin instead of pushing it inside the switch. I tried pushing it inside first but it wasn't flush enough to prevent the locking. I like the idea behind the lock but my button tends to rotate a bit during use enough to where it would get hung up on the lock sometimes unintentionally which bugged me enough to disable it.

u serious? It won't damage my reo or the button?

don't hit your REO with a hammer  You can push that little pin on the side of the button into the button without too much fuss without removing the button. I just did it using the tip of a letter opener...but you could also use a very small flat head screwdriver.

Yeah, that doesn't always work. On my first mini I could do that but on the second, the pin wouldn't push in far enough. I haven't gone so far as to disassemble it yet to remove it. It seems to hang up less nowdays anyway.

Just want to add, you can do that without removing the button. :)
