Any WGN Radio fans?

We recently got some excellent news.

I used to listen to WGN at night in Alabama when I was a kid because at night the high powered AM signals travel incredibly far. So, 40 years ago I can say it definitely rocked. I googled Kevin Metheny and he sure sounds like swine to me.

I haven't listened in years. Like Skruf, it used to be on my AM Dx'ing list, along with KAAY, WCCO, WWL, WLS and others. Not recently enough to be familiar with the man that murdered WGN Radio.


EDIT: Just researched the name a bit, and found the connection with Clear Channel Communications, an organization which has heavily contributed to the fatal blow to USA radio. I was a radio announcer for 17 years, ending in 1992. The curtains were coming down, and I ducked out.

I used to get the WGN a.m. signal here in Texas back when I was in Jr. High, my Dad was living in Chicago at the time. Those were the days my friends.
