Hi, Jordangoody. Welcome to ECF. I can relate to your excitement at getting a better e-cig. I started with the Smoke51 from the local mall myself ONE YEAR ago. (Yep...one year. These things really do work.)

I looked at that site and looked at the Volt and I'd just like to say a couple of things. You for sure need to get more than one battery....one just won't do it. Also....and please take this the right way; I don't want to be a downer, but you can get a better e-cig cheaper elsewhere on line if you do a little more research and read around these forums a LOT.

If you've been waiting for them to update their stock then maybe you have done your research and know exactly what you want. But...I'm afraid you're just getting right back into a Smoke51 type e-cig and you'll end up having to upgrade AGAIN and again. Are you absolutely sure you want a Volt? What is it about the Volt that has you? Is it a 510?

just wondering :p

this is my first post. ive been using some pretty poor ecigs - smoke fifty one and ecigs brand, but i finally quit analogs with em two weeks ago so im ready to move up to the volt.

otherwise, yeah, hey guys!

Welcome jordangoody. I've vaped a bunch of e-cigs and made a lot of mods myself. When SmokelessImage asked me to try a Volt, I was extremely skeptical, like the above poster. But after using the Volt, that's all I'm using right now. It's a great solid vapor producer with great taste, the company's products are reasonably priced and they say they have more things coming, and so yes, this is a wonderful e-cig. They have on-line customer support at their website to answer any immediate questions you might have or ask away on these forums. I have a couple of youtube videos on the Volt, I'm SteelJan on youtube as well.

One thing JC Okie is right about is that you want more than one battery. Three batteries is what I got.

Matter of fact, no matter what e-cig you get, plan your recharging strategy. For me, I need to know there's always a charged battery or two at all times, just like when I was smoking that I always wanted to know there were cigarettes in the house.

Hope this helps.

The Volt has had really good reviews. I've been thinking about getting a kit myself. I'm a mod freak but this has captured my interest. pbusardo did a review on it. Look him up on youtube.

Hairball, glad you jumped in here. I'm not that familiar with it, but it just looked a little expensive. I wasn't sure about it but I feel better now. Is it a 510? A KR808? Looks like it uses cartos...? I started with the Smoke51 (mall kiosk..ugh) and just wanted to make sure that jordangoody wasn't going from the frying pan to the fire. :)

I'll jump in there since I've still got this thread open, lol. The Volt is the exact same kit as the Bloog Maxxfusion, only cheaper. It's a KR808D-1 kit, with horizontal coil non-burny cartomizers and the hard-hitting regulated battery. It's head & shoulders above my first proper kit when I started vaping, which was the Ego.

Well, I guess I need to do a little of my own research! Glad to hear this is a decent deal. Thanks ladies. Jordangoody, I stand corrected....I just really didn't know much about it and wanted to make sure you wouldn't be disappointed. Glad to hear you know what your're doing. LOL

Good luck with it and congratulations on finding e-cigs and getting off the stinkies. Isn't vaping fun?

I'm also brand new to this e-cig world, and seriously thinking about getting a Volt. I just started with a Go-Go (which I'm really really liking a lot), but I can see certain situations in my life where a more analog-looking device will be better.

I've seen all the good reviews on the Volt, and I know that it's basically just a vamped-up KR808D-1, but the reviewers claim it to be somehow improved.

Like I said, I'm new to this, so I realize that I'm clueless, but the Volt seems like a good analog-looking automatic.

If I'm missing something, or if I'm wrong about anything, someone please let me know.

hey guys... wow... quick responses... i gotta say, ive been on here for a couple weeks on and off now before just signing up, and WOW 60,000 users??? i mean, add to that all the people who were like me and not joining the forum but just reading... thats a LOT OF PEOPLE! i feel like i should try to find something invest in, lol.

anyway, yeah the fifty one died on me a while ago (i think i overfilled the cartridge), but i got an ecigs brand that has cartomizers, and put off using them because i didnt even realize they could be refilled! recently i started up with em after seeing whats what on this site, and went through the liquid that came in the ecigs, put in some stuff from eliquid planet ive been using, and its alright, but im pretty sure it could be better. hence the hunt for an upgrade.

as for looking like a cigarette, i think ill order a black battery in addition to one or two white ones, but yeah, for the most part, id prefer it look like the real thing. im too used to holding it in the car, and i like the idea of people thinking im smoking rather than sucking on a marker, but im not knocking the bigger ones, or the manuals. to each his own.

im really sort of wondering what the actual difference could be between the ecigs and the volt, i mean, i know the battery connection is different and itll probably last a little longer, but could the cart really be that much better? im just trying not to set myself up for disappointment. i charge the ecigs once or twice a day with a usb charger i carry around, and knock on wood havent ran out of battery yet, except for right before bed lol.

ok back to work!

I was actually going to order a Volt about a week ago, I'm using an E-Power big batt right now and thought it would be nice to have something that reminded me of the 'real thing'.

I thought it over for a few days and decided the constant battery swap required was a deal killer for me as I'm pretty happy going a full day on one battery with my current unit.

Having said that, I read on another forum that the Volt's would be offering 330 mah batteries as an option very soon, if not already. The ycome stock with 220 mah.

If I were going to buy a Volt, I would be going for the 330 mah as opposed to the standard 220 mah, unless the slightly smaller size of the standard 220 mah suits your needs better. Would still get three under any circumstance tho.

Good Vaping to ya!

Those carts look pretty cool. I might have to get an adapter and try those. I wouldn't want the volt battery though. I can't stand having to constantly change batteries, but I understand people wanting cig size pv's. The volt looks great for its size. I'm a 6volt vaper anyways. I wonder how those carts perform at 6. Probably pretty good since they are around 2.5 ohms. Has anyone tried these at higher voltages?

That's the thing. The longer-life battery has its obvious advantages, but the shorter battery (in both life and length) better achieves the analog look/feel.

Here's what I got from chatting with the rep on Smokeless Image's site (btw, hate the name "Smokeless Image"... sounds like a store in a New York airport):

Regular analog length - 83mm

Volt w/ short 65mm battery - 103mm

Volt w/ long 78mm battery - 117mm

So, a Volt with the shorter battery will be about the same as holding a 100. A Volt with the longer battery sounds like it might eventually poke someone's eye out in a social situation.

OK, so I'm exaggerating, but the look/feel of the old analog means something to me at this point in the game.

Please explain how it is better than an ego.

BTW your reviews are great!

You'll get over that very quickly.
