Ok. Yes I did use settings I calculated with Steam Engine on both previous coils I made. Both not good. Either tasted a bit burnt or flooding. Which I think is due to the wicking.
Here's what I did.
24 gauge. 2 coils. 5 wraps each at 2.5mm. Got me to 0.33 ohms. Muji Organic cotton.
Pulled off the top layer of the cotton on both sides. About 1.6cm strips each.
Pulled cotton apart lightly just to spread it apart just slightly.
Rolled it together again and then pulled it through the coils.
Measure roughly, making sure the ends are long enough to reach and touch the bottom of the
juice well on all four sides. Trim off excess a bit. Fluffed up the ends.
Put juice on wicks. Making sure they are covered with liquid. Shape the wicks after they are wet and checked if the wick is too long. Trimmed a bit off.
Put back the ring. Pushed the wick into the slots with a tweezer on all for well slots.
Reassembled. Filled the tank. Drew a few times without firing and tasted a bit of juice.
Fired up. This time it tasted solid. (Bubble Gang - Watermelon Bubble Gum)
Just thought I will share my findings so that those who are having the same trouble can try this out.
I have to say the Tornado Nano is quite hard to wick correctly for a beginner like me which was quite frustrating. Ended up switching back to the chip coil a few times. Which tasted good like it was when I first got it. But a pain in the ... to rewick.
Thanks to everyone who chipped in to help.
