(MODERATED) yeah! Rayon is the bomb.

Changed back to the coil chip it tastes so much better. That means I'm wicking it totally wrong. The reviews are right. The tornado nano is picky about wicking. And since I'm quite a beginner I still have a way to get it right.

Eventually you will find a setting that works for you. Try using steam-engine to get an estimate on the build.

Ok. Yes I did use settings I calculated with Steam Engine on both previous coils I made. Both not good. Either tasted a bit burnt or flooding. Which I think is due to the wicking.

Here's what I did.

24 gauge. 2 coils. 5 wraps each at 2.5mm. Got me to 0.33 ohms. Muji Organic cotton.
Pulled off the top layer of the cotton on both sides. About 1.6cm strips each.
Pulled cotton apart lightly just to spread it apart just slightly.

Rolled it together again and then pulled it through the coils.

Measure roughly, making sure the ends are long enough to reach and touch the bottom of the juice well on all four sides. Trim off excess a bit. Fluffed up the ends.

Put juice on wicks. Making sure they are covered with liquid. Shape the wicks after they are wet and checked if the wick is too long. Trimmed a bit off.

Put back the ring. Pushed the wick into the slots with a tweezer on all for well slots.

Reassembled. Filled the tank. Drew a few times without firing and tasted a bit of juice.

Fired up. This time it tasted solid. (Bubble Gang - Watermelon Bubble Gum)

Just thought I will share my findings so that those who are having the same trouble can try this out.

I have to say the Tornado Nano is quite hard to wick correctly for a beginner like me which was quite frustrating. Ended up switching back to the chip coil a few times. Which tasted good like it was when I first got it. But a pain in the ... to rewick.

Thanks to everyone who chipped in to help.

Vape on brothers.

Just got the Limitless RDTA plus as I was curious about the flavor this RDTA puts out. The reviews on YouTube are pretty spot on.

It's quite different compared to the Tornado Nano - ( referring to the rebuildable deck).
Maybe I'm not an expert when it comes to the Nano. But over the past few days, got better at wicking it.

The Limitless is another story. Very easy to build and wick plus the flavor is so much better than on the Nano. Got the wicking right on the first try - and I'm a novice.

The coil is a normal 24 gauge Kanthal - 7 wraps - Dual coil - 35w to 40w. Airflow 3/4 closed. Decided not to use the Claptons included as I had to set my Therion DNA75 to about 50w. It took a while to heat up from idle and heats up the atomizer quite a bit.

Able to taste the flavor clearly - tested on Naked 100 Mango, Bubble Gang Watermelon and Dr Brew Rude Beer. They all tasted awesome compared to the Nano.

Best of all the Limitless can be used as a dripper cause the top cap pops off easily and dripping directly on the wick and coil is a breeze. So changing flavors is a breeze and the filling the tank for mobility.

Zero leaks so far.

I would recommend this RDTA to anyone who is into flavors. And the clouds are not bad either.

Trying this wicking.

The wick don't go into the wick holes but tucked under the coils and covering the holes.

Not bad.

You need to get the tweezers which helps you squeeze the cotton inside the holes. Alternatively you can unscrew the deck to wick the cotton. N screw back the deck.

Yes. I'm aware. But just thought to try it this way. Honestly. 0 spit back this way.

Just got Limitless plus rdta, only problem is the leak when put inside pocket or bag. Also how you guys do the wicking? thick in the center then abit loose at the end so that juice can absorb fast?

Yes. Thinner at the ends. U can do this by using the tweezers to "comb" the ends and remove the excess cotton. This works well.

I tried both ways

1) tuck the cotton under the coil but it covers the wick holes at the bend. Leave a bit of GAP, meaning the wick don't cover it completely. It's is to aid airflow in the tank otherwise it won't suck up the juice properly. This way. Less spitback. I'm using a 2.5mm diameter regular Clapton.

2) wick goes into the wick holes just nice. Meaning it just goes into the tank just about 1mm.

Both ways need to tilt the tank a bit once in a while to feed the wick.

Try and see how it goes and perhaps share your findings here.

Home
i've bought quite a number over the years but always get rid off them in some way once i feel like i have something better
currently using the twisted messes squared and first velocity
both with trinity glass caps (non-comp ones)
the velocity is the only rda i've ever stuck to for more than a few months (about 1 1/2 years) although i've been using the tm squared a lot more the past couple of months

may have 1 or 2 others lying around some where but have gotten rid of the rest
never tried the goon so i cant give any opinion
thinking of grabbing a recoil rda
maybe a pharaoh too but probably not as it seems like a ..... to drip into compared to a normal rda
