Anybody tried this mega adapter with 510 or KR808 batteries??

Apologies if I needed to post this link elsewhere:

510 TITAN/TORNADO E-NIC 10 Battery MEGA Charger

Just found this on the TW site. Can charge 10 510 batts at one time. Had a few questions regarding:

1. does anybody know if this is a "smart" charger? cuts off the power when it detects the batts are charged?

2. anybody tried using this type of charger with KR808 batts? I'm still researching to determine if this is physically possible with adapters. Plus I'm not sure if there is a big voltage difference that would need to be considered (3.2 vs 3.7, etc).

I am in the process of creating a "homebrew" multi charger for KR808, basically just a bank of USB ports pulled from the front panel of a PC, and wired up to a 2A 5.0V DC regulated PS. Then using the standard "usb key" type batt chargers (can get them for $2.70 at heaven gifts). Kinda a kluge, but these batteries themselves don't draw a full 2A when charging like a passthru in use. Figured I could charge at least 4 KR808 batts with this setup on a single 2A charger. Of course, if somebody has already gone this route I'd love to hear your ideas!

I have the 5 batt version and have used it for a year with 510 batts. Each hole lights up red when charging and then changes to green when each batt is charged.

Tried it with an eGo batt plus adaptor once and it works but takes FOREVER to charge them.

I guess here is another option:

D-Link DUB-H7 Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-Port Hub DUB-H7 B&H Photo Video

A D-Link 7-port POWERED USB hub. dunno what the current draw would be for 7 batts (is it really as simple as 7x280mA = 1960mA ~ 2A?

I realize that normal battery charging is done using the "C" method, like a C/10 or C/20, means that proper (best) charging is normally done at 10-20% of normal operating voltage, which would make this current draw ~ 400mA, maybe a little more. I've done this alot with some of my solar power/charging stuff at home, figured LION batts wouldn't be that much different?

I am only looking to use this type of device to charge my batts, would prolly never actually hook it up to a PC.

Any opinions out there on this or some other idea I haven't yet stumbled upon?

UPDATE: I've checked a few hardware vendors (mainly newegg) and found several models of powered USB hubs, each with either a 2A or 3A regulated PSU. There is a rosewill that in addition to a power cord (which disconnects even), the hub has its own power switch to cut power to all devices at once:

Thinking of going this route, sounds much easier than my homebrew option! :)

Good to know! Thanks for the reply. I don't suppose you have tried charging a KR808 batt on your charger with an adapter have you?
