Me either. Its up to you. I like VV. There are arguments both ways. No definative answer is given, only differing opinions. And everyone seems to have an opinion. .
Only advantage / if you want to call it that is that if u keep watts the same say 11 watts and are vaping a 1.8 ohm coil flavor good etc., etc and you switch to a 1ohm coil both will vape the same at 11 watts Voltage will change between the two coils due to less resistance and watts will stay the same / theoretically giving you the same vape so you don't have to f around to find the sweet spot as you will using watts as a guage.

Anyone with a Steath P3 Kabuki, be careful. Extremely delicate finish. Mine is already coming off and I've only had it a week. No idea when, why or how, but it is.

Zen posted a warning about cleaning the Stealth ones. Did you boil it by any chance?

No, I actually caught him say that and have been diligent about just rinsing it in luke warm water.
The bottom portion of the tank came with a little burr/imperfection and that's where it started coming off, the top portion got a tiny chip in it at some point from falling over or something and of course has been coming off from that area. (Chalk that one up to my oops)

It is a beautiful tank/finish, just be careful.
I'm sure I'll just wait for this one to get really bad and order a SS next time.

Seems like every time I change coils i have to change wattage or voltage to maintain a similar vape. A new coil seems to vape better at lower settings until it breaks in (or out). It has been a rare event to have the vape seem similar at the same setting. You're still adjusting, watts or volts.Theoretically maybe, but not in the my real world.

VV I vape at 3.7 volts. Power at 8 watts. I swap out and never even worry about it. When you find the G-spot for your ADV you will never give the vv/power issue a second thought again.

I would give Zen a call. DLC shouldn't have this problem. sounds like an incomplete coating. It happens! It is a very, very hard coating. Almost indestructible when properly applied. ;)

The "don't use soap" confuses me. It is used quite a bit in the Watch world, (High End) and used in salt water diving, and all kinds of bad environments. A little bit of soap should do Nothing if the DLC is properly applied in multiple layers.
I've seen many watches that have been worn for years, without a mark on them. And a watch gets a LOT more abuse than a tank for most people. And we all use mild, (dish Soap) and water to clean the watches. Never heard of a single problem from any one doing this with DLC coatings.

I'm wondering if ZEN is simply using typical PVD coating, rather than the full DLC version. He states that it is next to diamond in hardness, and this only describes the DLC version. Strange!
In fact, DLC stands for Diamond Like Coating.

so the question is, is Zen using the very common PVD Coating, or the more complicated (and expensive) full DLC- PVD coating?
In watching his "To Destruction" Test in Part 2 of PBusardo's vid of the Zen interview, one could conclude that it is indeed DLC. If turning at high speed on a lathe, and applying sandpaper of differing grits to it does nothing but polish it, there is no way simple every day carry (in such a short time) would show any ill effects.

I have some DLC coated end mills here in the shop, that have repeatedly,at high speed, cut through very tough high grade Jet Turbine steels, and show NO Wear whatsoever. I seriously doubt that simply wiping it with a paper towel is going to damage it. LOL

I would definitely give Zen a Call. Something is amiss here. and with Zen's penchant for quality, I think he will be more than happy to take a look at the problem. ;)

The Stealth Kabuki is not Zenkote, the somewhat similar to DLC finish.

Stealth is a flat black ceramic coating -- Cerakote, I believe is the name of it. I understand it is not done in house at HOH or ProVape. This is the finish we've been warned not to boil or rinse with hot water as there has been some chip and perhaps peeling off issues---and this is the one Mr. B. mentioned had chipped a bit.

Right now ProVape has 3 kabuki's for sale. Steel, Stealth Black, GunMetalGreyZenkote.

Fragile?

I dont' get what your saying. ZenKote is PVD Process, called DLC, which is Diamond Like Coating. It is the hardest coating known to man! the only thing harder is Diamond itself, and is not just a coating, but it actually permeates the surface of the steel.
The only way to scratch it is to actually damage the steel underneath. As it becomes a part of the surface of the Steel.
Keep in mind, that although of very high quality, 316ss is not all that hard.

The Stealth Provari's were ceramic, not Zenkote. Z is Much tougher, and abrasion resistant. For instance, Ceramic can chip and or flake with impact, Zkote cannot.

Knife, I believe you hit the proverbial nail.

In terms of the look, Zen actually explained it quite simply and said that the GMZ looks different (for example, on the Kabuki kaps vs. the GMZ Provi), as it is dependent on the metal finish of material that is below it... The Provi GMZ is highly polished prior to coating, so it has a VERY different sheen.

I'm just gonna leave this here....

Woah, WOW! VERY nice, k2!

maybe we can reroute Astro's 10000 plovari dragon clones that he just ordered and have them zenkloted

Ummm, Stealth? I'm not sure I want my plovari dragon clone zenkloted.

To the vape! It's to live for.

;) Thank you. :D

Exactly KatD, as I have already explained earlier. One is polished, and one is glass bead blasted before coating.

Seems to me, the answer to the cracking, loosing depth of color, or pealing would be to order the Kabuki In ZenKote, NOT Stealth, which is nothing more than a ceramic coating, Whereas the ZenKote is actually a surface treatment. It extends below the surface of the material. (Stainless steel).
Problem solved.;)

Got some Triton Mini coils in. Both the 1.8 Clappnors (shout out to Rush fans) and the 1.2.

Haven't had much time to play plus I built a Tugboat for the Radius and have been back on a dripping kick. .65 dual 26ga at 35w on a Radius is pure heaven, but I digress....................

Got a 1.2 in a Kabuki now. Good looking coil. Appears better made but its the same company so we shall see.

Air flow is better. Still terrible but better.

And here is where the train starts to leave the tracks.

The airflow is from two places. The sides of the body and the base pin. Both places have bigger holes. Suck through it without power and you can hear the extra airflow. But so far I can't get that bottom pin to work. I had to swap in a Nautilus pin.

So its better airflow but not what it should be.

In terms of power it handles plenty. On the Radius I had it up to 25w and it was fine with not the slightest burnt taste. It was however starting to be a pretty hot vape.

Currently its on a 2.5 at 4.2V. It has a 12mg 50/50 juice in it. Flavor and vapor are better then a Nautilus but still very low on both counts to me. As a nicotine injection device its fine. For flavor and nicotine that Tugboat with the 3mg is where ya wanna be. Vapor production on that while not high is noticeable.

I can't believe I'm having another mail delivery issue. I ordered more coils from MFS and it was supposed to be delivered last Saturday. It wasn't. I thought it would come today but it didn't. Not sure if it got delivered to the wrong house or what. Going to be harder to prove I didn't get it since tracking says I did. :(

Oh that is horrible. I had won some liquid on fb. I finally reached out to the company cause I had not gotten it. Turned out it had been sitting in the front office of my apartment for two weeks cause my door never got tagged saying it was delivered.

I think the tracking will also show where it was delivered. I called USPS a little while back because something was showing delivered and it was not delivered to me. They were able to tell me exactly which house it had been delivered. It was one street over from me, they picked it up and delivered it to me. Hope they can tell you.

Small packages can be dropped through my mail slot in the door and I can hear when mail is delivered. I ALWAYS check outside even if they don't ring the doorbell. I'm positive the package never made it to my door step. :(

Oh this is good to know. Not sure if there's a new delivery person or what. We have some streets here that are very similar names. Hope they are able to retrieve my package and bring it to me.
