What attachment did you use for the thread polishing? I have a Dremel with like 200 different attachments. That has been my issue the whole time with the rba, it's not the building (that's become easy!) it's that the threading is TERRIBLE!!!

I've found that a horizontal coil is FAR easier for me to install that a vertical coil on the VVWTF! After several failed attempts, tool throwing, and a lot of swearing I found that installing the bottom lead in first made it a complete breeze to set up. I was following the You Tube tutorial when I first got it and he is securing the top lead first so I tried to emulate that and all I got for it was heartbreak and regret! Once I started installing the bottom lead first it's been easy peasy ever since!

Alas, this last attempt at building the VVWTF was my last. After a couple of hours of frustration, I pulled down my trusty war-hammer off the wall and smote the offending deck....thrice. It is no more. And I shan't be tempted to try again now. All is well in the multi-verse.

Funny! I feel for you, but a Velocity deck it ain't!

I actually bought 2 full size Tritons and associated RBAs today. I'm in upstate NY and they were 50% off, so I grabbed them. The RBA looks like it's easy to build on, and I like the airflow and tank capacity. If these work well, I will likely move a couple of my Kabukis in the classifieds as I don't need 4 and the VVWTF (or whatever it is called) bites. I don't want to be buying Nautilus coils and don't expect them to be around in a couple of years.

If using a Dremel, the standard felt, or muslin buffing wheels loaded with any any fairly coarse buffing compound should work just fine. black works best, but the more easily obtainable Red should work as well. Will just take a little longer.

I am using an industrial, 3600 2 hp. heavy buffer. Made for heavy metal polishing. It's a monster! and twice as dangerous!!! + side is that it only takes apx 20 to 30 seconds to do the job on all four edges total. The clean up is what takes the time. LOL

I someone here has truly given up on the RB Deck for the Kabuki, I will gladly purchase it or them from you.

If you would like to try once more, with the polished deck cutouts and cannot do it yourself, I will be happy to do that as well. At NO charge. :) Always happy to help a Fellow Vapor!

So, I guess you don't want mine either then, eh? ;)

Funny but I was just thinking of you a few weeks back. I was looking at an old exchange of ours. I hope you're well, Mr. Diesel!
All is very well, DP...nice of you to ask. I hope the same is true for you! Work picked up awhile back and between that, the family and the local TH vape forum, I had to curtail my activities on here (sadly, I might add). There just weren't enough hours in the day to get everything done. But I haven't stopped vaping or buying mods, though (even though TH Customs has stepped up their game in the past few months). :thumb:

Another big lie is the Nautilus caged tank, commonly advertised as 5ml. It is actually 3ml.
Yep, I agree...measured it myself one day as I was going through way too many '5 ml' tanks when I was using it...it has since found a new home. :D

Yes, it is advertised at 3ml. I'm a curious folk though, and take syringes to all my tanks. Try as I might, I can't make it come out to more than 2ml (with standard fill). When the coil sticks I can get it close to 2.5, but then it gets all gurgly and what-not, so..... 2ml. :)
All facts here are verifiable with 30 seconds and a syringe. Feel free to dispute - maybe we'll have a "Syringe-Off" contest.
You got me curious and I just happened to have a 510 MBV Kabuki (v1) that was in need of refilling...so I took out my trusty syringe, dried off the top edge of the inner chimney (coil is out) and was able to fill it with 3 ml of water (allowing for the meniscus effect of the water climbing up the sides). One of my Kabuki ADV is Digby's Apple Cinnamon (absolutely delicious BTW), which comes in 10 ml bottles...gone through a fair amount of those little suckers and I get just over 3 refills per bottle...which kind of confirms what the syringe indicates (or vice-versa). Dunno why the difference...maybe there are some tolerances in the glass tanks that affects the volume (or your syringe just measures large). ;)

Yessir. But if the liquid spills over the sides you've gone MUCH to high (gurgles, gurlges!). Remove the coil, fill it to capacity, then re-measure. ;)

WAIT! How did you get to the sides with the coil out? It's lower than the sides.

I is confused.

LOL...I'm hoping this picture will help. When I finished adding 3ml of water, this is what it looked like. I've found that as long as the top of the chimney is dry to start, I'm able to nurse a bit more in that will climb up the glass side of the tank and not spill over & down the chimney...something to do with the surface tension (the science guys will be able to explain this much better than I can). When I close it up, there's a very small pea-sized bubble. :)
