You know, I've been off the vape for a few months... please bare with me. With that said. My nautilus coil is reading 2 ohms. What's a good range of wattage? I don't want to burn my coil.

Recommendations are printed on the side of the coils. They're a little high imo.

@Ladiekali Provape and Zen both recommend 70pg/30vg for the Kabuki with either the 1.6 or 1.8 naughti bvc coils. As for wattage good rule of thumb is, 3x the ohms to start. Try that and adjust as you like. No burned coils, and if you use your Kabukis for your ADV at that % your coils will last months.

Hello,

Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is coldgin96. :tumble: I have a question for those of you who use the new style (cotton) Aspire BVC's with a ProVari that has the Boost function.

Do you utilize the Boost function when using the BVC's or do you find the Boost tends to burn the cotton to easily?

Myself, I utilize said Boost function with the old style BVC's but not the new style cotton ones.

Any insight, recommendations, and stories of experiences will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance, you seem like a helpful group of people.

Hi CG, welcome to the forum.

I used boost with the Nautilus coils, for a while, but found it wasn't needed... what with the thin wire and all.

HTH

Yeah, I dismantled one tonight and wasn't much there. Thanks!

Appreciate the feed back.
Maybe this is why I struggled in the past with my kabuki. I usually vape high vg.

I have several Kabuki's and they will run with higher VG juice, but the coil doesn't last near as long... only a few tanks worth. When I run 50/50 juice, I can get weeks out of a BVC... 1.6 or 1.8. For wattage, I'm anywhere from 10 - 13 on a Kabuki, depending on taste.

So needless to say, I tend to only use 50/50 with Kabuki's. I say the higher VG for other tanks.

I bet that is it! I marked on my calendar the last coil changes on a couple of my tanks, just to see and on one the last change was Nov.8. But since I use several, and always use the 70/30 blend, I'm getting good longevity. If I have a ejuice with higher Vg I use a Z Atty, that works great.

@Ladiekali — Others have had good luck with high VG using the Nautilus 1.6/1.8 Mini BVCs. For myself I have not. I did try adding distilled water to the eliquid and I could taste the water so I did not care for this. It is possible I used too much DW. I have been using the Nautilus x Milspec 0.7 ohm coils and they work much better for me. The issue is that they are not widely available and cost twice the price of the Nautilus Mini BVC.

So I did change out the trtion clapton coil for a Naut BVC 1.6 ohm coil yesterday, I guess I should of stuck with the same juice to compare the difference, but wasn't fond of the flavor I had in there.

Vaping the Naut 1.6 ohm at 10 watts, and still really liking it, good flavor and vapor production for only 10 watts, and now not drinking the juice so fast.

Vaping 30PG/70VG juice in it, and is wicking fine for me, no dry hits, how long the coil will last, time will tell, only been 48 hours and I vape 3-4 devices.

So think I will stick with the Naut coils, do not see a big enough of a difference to use the triton clapton coils that use a lot more juice.

I have to say, Gin, that I've never heard you so polite and genteel. LOL.
For me, the boost did cause the coil/wicks to get "sour" faster. So, I don't use boost with the Kabuki and Aspire coils.

    Two.

It has been for me. Might not be for you.

This is my daily carry: Ti p3 in 18350 mode, with a Ti p3 Kabook. Can't beat it imo, but definitely not cheap.

It would not be worth it to me as anything other than a carry mod though, ie; for out and about.

    For around the house? nah.

    YMMV
yes, that's exactly what I was thinking. I carried around my P3 GMZ/Kabuki last week when I was traveling, and wondered. Not that it was problem, but just wondered.
I have a P3 Ti, hopefully, arriving tomorrow. So, got to handle it then figure out what to do.
Don't go dig out scales, but does anyone know the weight diff between the standard Kabuki and the P3 Ti Kabuki?

Boost, I do not use this function with the regular Nautilus coils, when I am using the triton mini claptons, boost is a nice feature. In the end I can take or leave this boost function. But then, vanilla, the French kind, is my favorite ice cream :)

I went through the whole is it worth it thing with the Ti Mini.

When that one came out, I spent a long time trying to get past the rather small weight difference between it and the standard Mini.

I decided to get one based on it being a limited edition, and the p3 capability; plus I liked the way it looked. Remember, this was the send off for the iconic 2.5.. we were calling it the 2.75 for awhile there.

This was before ProVari was offering the p3 option on the standard 2.5.

I ordered a second one before the postman made it back to the P.O..

And why the p3 Ti was a no brainer for me.

I now have Six, between the Ti Mini and the p3 Ti.

That's how much I like them.

The weight difference is relatively small; but the moment of inertia, the overall feeling of lightness is remarkable.

It really is not something that can be explained by looking at the numbers.

This is why we say (only half-jokingly) it's magical.

The addition of a Ti Kabuki just amplifies the effect.

Now. I will not make recommendations because of the expense. Everybody has to make their own determination as to whether it is worth it or not to them.

Nobody needs a Ti p3 and Ti Kp3 to stay off the cigs.

But everything in life makes a difference.

Case in point directly related: I noticed one of my Ti minis was ever-so-slightly heavier than the other. The difference in weight by the numbers?

    .04oz.

Not much, but noticable to me.

The human body is amazing that way. Such a finely tuned instrument, even when we're old and out of shape.

So, would you notice a difference? No idea.

RB, one of our late lamented members either bought, or tried, a Ti p3 and ended up not getting, or getting rid of it. Can't remember which.

Didn't make a difference to him. He liked the weight of the standard better.

I imagine he wouldn't care for the Ti kabook either.

Different strokes, etc, etc.. and I will add that a Ti kabook is noticable on a Radius as well. It basically feels like there is no atty on there at all compared to a standard K.
