Very interesting. I read this was possible but I don't have any of those coils. So the gap is between the glass and the base? I'd be ok with that because the seal is at the O-ring. I might just have to take a ride to a B&M and pick up a single coil to play with...
Yes - the red oring on mine is completely visible with the bvc - whereas with the stock coil it squashes right down. Doesn't appear to be leaking though so think there's enough of a seal.

I just don't get it. Even after the BBC reported the spectacular findings on the benefits over smoking. Makes us wonder....
Apparently the EU thinks there is no reason you can't reap the benefits of vaping from the closed systems that BT will still be allowed to sell.

An issue? Not a complaint.
I have a Kabuki with the P3 fitting. I have a P3 to use with the new topper. Unless I screw in the coil as tight as I can get it (with help) and then screw the topper on, then use the hex wrench to help me tighten it a smidge tighter, it'll work.
But, if I do not follow all of these steps, no hiss at all. This is my ADV, so by this point I've ran maybe a dozen or more coils (incl ones bought from ProVape) and this is my life. I fear tightening everything so tight, but if I must, I must as I love this setup.

I do drop stuff, and to date have broken the glass twice - oh well.

Any thoughts or ideas? If it matters, I bought this from the first batch on ProVape.

Well, there have been a few P3 devices that have the positive pin set a little low, and when this condition exists it won't make contact, the solution is to give me a call at the shop (house of hybrids) on Monday when I get back from vapercon in Richmond, and I'll send you a P3 Kabuki base that has the coil seat machined about .02 lower and that will insure that it makes connection every time.

It is a rare, but known problem that I am happy to fix for you.

So, today I called HOH, and got the chance to speak to @Zen~ himself, he remembered this set of posts, and he got a nice young lady on the phone to take all my info. They will ship me out a new bottom piece tomorrow, along with a mailer for me to ship my original back in. Very nice and painless :)

I must be the odd one --- maybe I got a bad coil.

I bought a couple and I tried the Avid nauti coils months ago. Only used one, for a day or less. Reminded me of using an ancient 510. Plus it got harsh really fast---and I abandoned, not willing to go through the trouble and effort of "fiddling" or learning how to fiddle.

This renewed spurt of delight may get me to find the second coil and give it another chance.

Just a thought? Try a bit lower wattage than you usually enjoy, then slowly work your way up til you find your happy place? I notice that I run the Kabuki a full watt lower than I ran the Nauti at..

I run the Cisco coils lower by 1 watt, on average, than the Aspire coils...

The Kabuki does give you more flavor, and with that, it also seems to be a bit more efficient with nicotine delivery as well. As the designer, I've been using it in one form or another for the past year, and My juice consumption has reduced by about 7Ml per day. (roughly 50% for me) I suspect that if I lowered my nic to compensate my consumption would go back up...

So it's not only me that seems to be vaping a touch less? I had tank that used the same coils, and held 5mls of juice, and I needed to fill it twice a day, or I used roughly 11mls of juice most days. Now with the Kabuki, I find most days I only refill it once or sometimes twice a day - any way you look at it I am using less juice (which is great due to my somewhat low income).

Not to beat a dead horse - I haven't been able to search the whole thread yet but...

Anyone have any issues with high vg juice, say 80/20 VG/PG?

Also - I've seen some different glass/tanks and colors of Kabuki's on here. Where are people getting different color Kabukis or different tanks?

Thanks all!

Well it just so happens I have both of those things (STM takes ordinary protank coils which I can build with my eyes closed). It's firing!I have a bell cap on mine and it doesn't screw right down so it might leak over time (or need a bigger o ring on the base?).

Wow, kates, thank you. I saw that "info" in glancing thru some FB stuff. I inquired, but never got an answer. I found it interesting, but for now, I'm far from tank hungry, other than possibly wanting another Kabuke.

It's a bit closer for us - from May 2016 no tank over 2ml so no Kabuki? Time will tell how it's interpreted and if TW can affect with their legal challenge but as it stands at the moment Europe is balanced on the precipice :(

OM :censored: G

:(

We're tottering with ya, sweet UK bud.

Has anyone used these?

GENUINE ASPIRE™ NAUTILUS NICKEL NI200 REPLACEMENT ATOMIZER HEADS (5 PACK)

Interesting and thanks, Dru for letting us know you've used them.

My personal jury is out on nickel at this point in time. I shall most likely remain nickel free for a (long) while.

The BBC have also done some very biased reporting in the other direction (as has the rest of our media). The public heath report was not published by a government department who seem incapable of understanding the reality of vaping and don't even get me started on the EU fiasco. The problem at the moment is that we legally have to implement the EU directive (which was in place well before the latest positive reports) unless of course we vote to leave the EU when we have the referendum....so from May '16 no tanks over 2ml and 'tamper proof' (whatever that means), no e-juice in bottles over 10ml, nothing over 20mg nicotine, potential bans on internet sales etc. Scary times...and one of the reasons I'm keen to buy reliable gear. I can stock up on coils but I need tanks that will last. Lol, think I've just talked myself into buying another kabuki.

Yes, I think you just talked ME into it as well. :)

Does anyone know of any Columbus Day sales on nauti coils?

THNX.

Isn't MFS doing their coil sale, Tea? I haven't been following the sale notifications (ahem, spending way too much time on the Radi thread!)

DPL? Naughty coil sales, deary?

How do they plan on enforcing that rule?

Bobbies going around measuring?

Unless they seize it all, that is an un-enforcable prohibition, just like most anti-vaping ordinances.

It won't be enforced or make a bit of difference to vapers....

Well the UK can certainly stop over the counter sales and monitor online shops. Easy to spot who is selling tanks over 2ml, ejuice in bottles over 10ml etc. There could be fines for selling stuff that isn't allowed (which will limit the number of people willing to flout legal requirements) etc. There is a lot of confusion - not least because the EU/governments etc. have absolutely no understanding of vaping and the breadth and variety of what is available so a lot of it requires clarification (e.g. diy, vaping 0 nic, buying outside of EU) - but it will have an impact in all EU countries (some more than others as each country will make their own decisions about how it is implemented). There are enough anti-vaping idiots who will make it their mission to ensure it's enforced. It will likely be possible for those already vaping to get around it (I have enough to vape for around 10 years ) but new/ potential new vapers will inevitably be affected.

In the Netherlands, where I live, those rules already apply...and I can tell you, yes it makes a big difference.
We cannot buy any liquid with nic in containers bigger than 10ml...so no Muffin man etc. as they only come in big containers (some shops put them in 10ml container, but that makes it quite expensive). Also no buying of Nic base for DIY....

For most tanks we rely on purchases abroad as we can indeed not buy any bigger than 2ml locally...this adds to our transportation and tax costs.

So it's a big PITA. For now we can live with it because we can just shop over the border in a fellow EU country...but after the 1st of May we are royally screwed,as we have to fly everything in from China or USA against much higher costs....

So I am stocking up big time :D especially on Nic base..

Strange thing is: we can buy all and any type of Mod we want...just not the tanks or liquids...
I think a Mechanical device in the hands of an ignorant is far more dangerous than a tank with larger content...but than again, what do I know :(
