I've hand planed a bunch of things, with the sandpaper adhered to a very flat surface. You just swirl the part in figure eights, then opposite figure eights, and keep changing where you grasp the item every few revolutions. You can also alternate circular strokes while changing directions. If you are very attentive and consistent while doing this, you can achieve a relatively accurate cut of material, as long as you keep even pressure, and insure that your item stays perpendicular to the cutting surface, assuming a 90 degree cut. My father taught me to use lapping plates as a boy, a very flat piece of hardened steel with grooves cut into it. A polishing or cutting compound is slathered onto the plate and the parts are cut and polished as I described. When you described your situation and the modification to your base and the engineers involved, these things came to mind :)

We hand polish microsectioned circuit board coupons on the polisher at times, but it does get slippery with the polishing fluid, and we have been known to let one go flying across the room from time to time. Holding onto the base without the tank and top attached- we were worried about the vibration shattering the thin glass, seemed too risky. We also had all day to kill, since operations were shut down due to losing 480 v power in the shop...

Wow.

Just wow.

Several posts on how to "fix" these. Pardoney moi, but with a high end tank, I have zero desire to take my nail file to it. I give you guys a heap of credit, but I do believe this is over (the top) and beyond what most end users would do...... or want to do.

One more ...... "wow".

Can I get that nail file in a blister pack?

When two different high end, "tanks" such as the Kabuki and Kayfun have the paper gap on a P3 and same Kabuki and Kayfun does not have said gap on a different P3, well it doesn't take a rocket scientist but apparently it takes one to tell us we as a community and the manufactures of these fine, high end tanks are mistaken.

Enaud, good idea. Never heard of those guys, but their shop is only a couple of miles away. But let me ask you a question. All the powder coating I've seen has sort of a stippled finish. The Kabuki is smooth. And I was thinking the finish on the Kabuki was called something like ____kote. Sorry I cannot remember the first part.

That was just to give you an idea. Thinking outside the box ;) Lot's of folks have Ceracoat applied to firearms, Maybe a local smith can be found, they may or may not have a website.

Our story thus far... Three stainless steel P3's, three titanium P3's, four Kabukis, four Nautilus P3 tanks. All coils 1.6ohm and obtained from Aspire, ProVape, Sweet-Vapes and what was mounted in the Kabukis. All of the Nautilus tanks work all of the with the six P3's with issue and without a gap. All of the Kabukis work with all the Ti P3's all of the time. The original Kabuki will not work with two of the steel P3's unless the pin is threaded. Kabukis two and three will sometimes work with the steel P3's and sometimes not. Kabuki four, which arrived today seems to work with the all of the steel P3's. Source of the coil seems to make zero difference. Stealth finish on any of the items does not make a difference.

None of the Kabukis mounted on the Ti P3's show a gap. Some of the Kabukis show a gap on the steel P3's. But the presence of a gap is not an indication if the Kabuki will fire or not.

I'm lost, tired and wasted way too much time jacking with this tonight. More over the weekend. Comments and suggestions wanted. Thanks.

Juma,

I really feel for you and if I was in your shoes I'd be screaming about how much money, time and patience you have spent. I really would. In fact, I have went off. We have earned the right (especially you) to vent.

But guess what? Know how much I suck?

I just ordered another Stealth Kabuki from ProVape...

That's how much confidence (and/or hope) I have in Zen that he will make sure I can fire my HH coils without having to, "thread" them or use a Nautilus to do so.

Then again, between my P3 and four Kabuki's, I have spent $600 as opposed to the over $3,000 you have.

Hang in there, kid, and may the Force be with you!

Sorry you're going through all this, JUMA.

I'm wondering if it might be a good time to grab up a few of the things that ARE working perfectly for you, and just take a few days (or more) to simply enjoy them. You've been through a lot, and you do deserve a break.

So take that wonderful vape and enjoy the heck out of it. There's always a tomorrow to begin wrestling again, and I hate to see vaping become something bad for you (instead of the "good" that it should be and is).

It's all a conspiracy so those of us only one ProVari w/ a P3 connector will get at least one of our V2's retrofitted! That way, when ProVape finally admits it's on them and their P3 threading, we'll have back-up to use our Kabuki's when we send in our P3.

I wonder if fear of a mass warranty send in to replace P3 top caps is why we are in this predicament?

The conspiracy part was tongue in cheek.

I've been around a long time. I worked for a less than honest American company. I know how some put business before truth.

I'm hoping, and believe actually, in this case it's a simple lack of being able to confer with all involved parties at this time.

Longo, it's really not a problem. 99% of the time I like trying to figure it out--whatever "it" is. Last night was just a poor time to try. I'll give it a shot over the weekend. My gut tells me that on one of the Kabukis the base is too long and on one of the P3's the threads are not cut deep enough.

Thank you for the concern. Means a lot to me.

Received my Kabuki 2 days ago..took me hours to unscrew, after i cleaned up all the blood and bandaged my hand i have to say this is truly the best vapein machine i have ever used, wet, tasty, bobas bounty
i've used on Z atty's,,kayfuns, drips, krakens, but the flavour is far above those ones..510 Kabuki on my provape 2.5 titanium mini works great..took me awhile to figure out,i had a 2.0 coil and needed to up
the power to 5.0-5.3 volts.now there's no going back.

I remembered, after I posted, that you were the one who didn't want to slip on a banana peel in front of me. Sorry 'bout that! ;)

Yeah - the index fingers can take a beatin', but it's worth it.
