In view of my recent troubles with my Kabuki, I did a search on this thread for "maintenance," and came up with nothing in the way of actual tips or tricks. So, here we go then! Are there posts on here of vids or lists or whatever that might not include "maintenance" in their subject lines or even body text? Open to help^^^^suggestions. :)
I have the P3 Kabuki, the only maintenance I could imagine is rinsing it out from time to time. There is only one moving part, and I haven't needed to move the air adjustment screw since I got mine...

I don't know what to tell you about searching. ECF search engine and I aren't the best of pals. However, here is what I recall:

#1. Watch the video on post #1. (There is another one--perhaps at Provape--that people like too)
#2. Lube your Orings, the first time you open and after you wash out.
#3. If you have a Stealth, only wash out with luke warm or cool water. (The coating doesn't like hot water.)
#4. Make sure the coil is fully inserted -- and sometimes check that when re-filling.
#5. A rubber band, paper towel, or rubbery jar gripper pad is useful when opening the Kabuki to refill...if it's a bit tight for naked fingers, but not enough to need the hex trick in #1.
#6. Be aware that not all Nauti coils are the exact same, especially in length. Usually, it's just that they need to be fully inserted, but it seems that some of the older ones are shorter -- or it could be just various batches.
#7. Should you have an issue where the Kabuki needs service, contact HOH (or Zen) by calling or via their "contact me" on their site. Kabuki is USA made in New York State and all Kabuki's needing to "go home" will end up there, so a direct route, is the best one.
#8. It is suggested to not totally remove the air flow hex for some reason---could be due to vacuum needed(?) tho some have done so with no issue.

There are also several posts about a fix for when the pin doesn't reach the mod and using dental floss or something similar. (mostly needed with P3 version)

There are a couple of ideas about the little screw in the 510 connection and adjusting it to the coil and this and that about the connector, like it starting to come out a bit when removing the Kabuki for refilling.

This should be pretty complete, but I'm sure I missed a couple details. IMHO the Kabuki is a simple well made beauty and this list is actually very small compared to some models I've owned.

Hope this gets you off to a good start on your project. I'm sure many will appreciate your work.

Well I got my Provari 2.5 with a P3 top yesterday  All I can say is, what took me so long !!!
A P3 was just not in my budget right now, but the 2.5, or is it 2.75 will do me just fine right now
When my replacement Kabuki base from Zen arrives, I'll be in my glory

GMTA, Rhody! Congrats. You've got what I deem the perfect set up!

@~flipper, I really do not see any maintenance required for the Kabuki either. Fill 'er up when she's empty, and change her coil when she's not putting out (vapor!). :)

Yes, the Kabuki is on my ZNA - it's perfect, but I can't show you :)

It's Marvelous and looks MUCH better with the Kabuki instead of a 510 atty !!!

Keep eating...I'll be sitting at the table in my own Radius chair some day :)
Meanwhile, I am learning and enjoying the arrival pics !

Ohhh...cuddly ((hug)) !!!

So...weekend before last I got a mystery box in the mail - Friday evening.

I thought ProVape had messed up and sent me someone's beloved old ProVari that they had sent in for repair !
It had a RMA #.

I sent Vape360 a "conversation" to get it sent back...not knowing that he has them turned off.

I was REALLY worried !

It sat in it's box till Sunday evening...when it was finally confessed.

Seems this really mean Moderator that dropped his ProVari and sent it in to be fixed...

...conspired with Kim at ProVape to have it sent to me !

So I am not ProVari-less any more !

It's the 18650 with the lines down the side...ribs ?

It's a treasure and I love it.

spaky did it !

classy, how marvelous!!!!!!!!!

Somebody saw fit to surprise me with a Zen Matilda tip. And it is JUST as nice as I'd imagined and expected.

So, thank you, "Somebody", and THANK YOU, Zen! I absolutely LOVE it.

At home on a Kabuki (of course).

Fantastic! The ribs are the 2.0, it's the same as the 2.5 except for the designs on the body. Personally, I think the ribs are much more attractive than the crop circles. Pull up a chair my dear! I meant the poor waif didn't have a ProVari of any kind, I don't have a Radius either.

Tough question. Do I buy a P3 from the UK or a ZNA light with 18650 tube shipped to me from the USA in which case I might well get stung for VAT and import duty? I don't have much money so either will be a big undertaking for me. My head says P3, my heart says ZNA :(
...er.... Both?

I'm afraid that's a question only you must answer. Both are excellent devices, so you can at least feel comfortable with whichever choice you make.

Yeah, well, thanks, like I think I might have said, I'm probably jinxed. All was well, refill, vape, refill vape... no adjustments, constant great airflow, no gurgles, no floods, no dry hits, etc. Then kaboom!

But I have to wonder... A couple 'a few people have said something like, "I never had any issues." And, what's up with that? Does that mean I didn't/don't? LOL. Whatever, it's all good.

I saw a guy on the reddit subgroup saying "never boil the Kabuki to cure flooding or any other issues." That's a "tip" sorta, no???

And someone else, maybe on here, said something, once, about... maybe check the o-ring. You know, that's a little bit like maintenance, too, in a crazy way, innit?

Anyway, like I said, it's all good. It's going back to Provape tomorrow when a temporary replacement tank arrives. I needed to send the stealth in, anyway, to have some weird electronic issues dealt with (arbitrary resets of menu item selections). A bit strange and rare, and no folks, not totally uncommon, either, according to Provape tech support.

Hey, we carry on...

Hey, thank you for all that. I loved the one I have. And I have enough experience to have brought a couple of dead Nautilus's back to life, so I figured it was just a matter of time before someone came up with some, uh, actual suggestions. :)

I'm a big fan of the Kabuki! Okay, everybody!?!? Heaven forbid that my uncharacteristic "issue" be misinterpreted as a less than a ringing endorsement by the zealots! LOL

That being said, a Nautilus allows one to leave the coil in the chimney, during a refill, which means we get actual use out of the last 20% of the tanks actual volume. And in 18 months I never had to screw around with the tip of the coil in order to get it to make contact inb a Nautilus, either. But these are minor issues, aren't they? Of course, they are.

That being said (again!) I won't ever go back to a Nautilus. It's like trying to suck a golf ball through a garden hose, compared to the Kabuki. And the actual flavor? Forget that.

When I get the kabuki all the way sorted out, the "plan" (haha, there's that word again) is to pickup two more, one for the backup P3, here, and one for my kid, (whereever she is, in NY) for her P3 Ti.

So, I'm a fan, okay?

Thank you, though, personally, again, for taking time to actually try to help me out here... and now back to what I hope is the last 24 hours of Sherman's analogs.. adios...

@~flipper sounds like the positive pin is just pushed into the coil body too far and it's not making connection with the P3 positive pin. This happens to me from time to time. I think it's from over tightening the kabuki on to the mod. Just take the coil out and pull the positive pin down a little and you should be good to go.

Hey thank you for that. The coil/contact issue isn't the current showstopper for me. It's about flooding now. Repeated diassembly, drying out overnight, new coils... same deal. No gurgling noise, which is really weird in a flooding situation. Great draw, as always; but I'll get one really lame "hit" (very little vapor) followed by nothing... At which point I'll blow through the mouthpiece, and a load of juice comes out of the air hole...

If i just kept repeating this, a full tank would yield a handful of half-assed vapor puffs, and be empty within minutes.

I really don't get it, to be honest. I might have flooded it once, when refilling while driving in heavy traffic, but that was back in August. Since then it's run like a swiss watch, right up until a few days ago. Mystified..

Are you tightening the coil down really good when you install it? If not maybe it's not sealing properly or if it's over tightened it the could be getting deformed? Could also be the kabuki base has a flaw where the seal sits…
