Anybody Using A Kabuki?

Welp, to be clear, I'm not saying that it never has to be removed. I'd absolutely defer to @Zen~ on that as a stated "fact". I know for me it's not necessary. I just don't see a need or a reason for it, and I clean mine in the Vaper Bob 3 piece method.

I don't see anything WRONG with removing the cap to clean it, but with the amount of (potential) breakage, I'd rather not, unless I really want a new glass or O rings.

Let us know what Jackie thinks!

I only removed a Kabuki top cap once. That was cause I read much earlier here that if the bottom cap was difficult to unscrew when refilling, that might be due to slight dimensional diffs and try reversing it top to bottom. (Didn't work, but no big deal, just use the allen wrench, and didn't break.)
That aside, o-rings do retain some scent of previous juices, rather than the glass. So, if you alternate liquids regularly, and if some of your juices are particularly "pungent", then you may not get a perfectly pure flavor from new juices. IMHO, when my juices are that pungent, I toss them into the trash.

I dunno. I thought that was the thing to do when there is flavor change (every 30ml bottle). No? One does not have to completely remove for cleaning when there is a flavor change, for flavor creep or just to do it once in a while for potential crud purposes?

If you're saying it never has to removed, THAT WOULD BE GREAT! That would SERIUOSLY cut down on breakage and I won't be sentenced to a life of SS Hell for the upcoming vapocalypse or spending $800 on spare glass (2 a year until I'm 90) tanks.

When I remove the glass from the top section, here's my method.
Screw an old Nauti coil into the chimney. Take a paper towel and fold it up a bunch of times as a cushion. Place the pin of the Nauti coil onto the paper towel and grasp the glass with both index fingers and thumbs, you will have four contact points, and press down on the glass with both hands, firmly and smoothly, but anticipating the glass to move downwards. Once the glass starts to move you will feel it, and just press till it clears the O-rings. I've taken them apart a bunch of times like this and never busted a tank...

So.... ummmm... remember when I kinda said an adapter to put P3 attys on 510 mods was a silly idea?

I'm vaping on a prototype of a P3 atty to 510 mod converter that I designed last week. yep adds a little height, but... solves the issue... look for it to be for sale in about a month. I also designed a P3 atty to Z2 adapter as well... same time frame... ONE P3 Kabuki will fit ANYTHING

Yes, "anything" in the sense that I can use the 510 adapter and the included top cap of, say my JM22 or Caravela. But that's just adding more connections in line (Kabuki > adaptor > top cap > battery). I've found the less connections the better, particularly with mechanicals. I believe the Z2 spec is M20x1.56. The majority of my mechs are M20x1. Although I do have a Z2 Kabuki and an original Zenesis Mini somewhere in my collection.

EDIT: Oops, nevermind. I forgot the Z-Atty is actually machined as part of the tube on the original Zenesis.

Isn't the Geisha by HOH a mech? I believe so. It comes with a Z2 Kabuki. Therefore, a Kabuki on a mech is OK!

The Geisha is definitely mechanical. I have no doubt it works. Really, I guess my question was more of a "how do the Aspire coils hold up to the ever changing power output of a mechanical?"

As of this moment, I have 5 days with about 30ml of Unicorn Milk through a 1.6ohm Nauti coil with no noticeable flavor or vapor degradation. Life is good. I've been coiling, building, rewicking nearly daily trying too keep good flavor in my Kayfuns for nearly a year. MAAAANNN, I had forgotten just how great it is to pop in a coil and just enjoy!!

Thank you for sharing how you remove the cap from the glass. I have been struggling with a stubborn one that I have been working on and off with no success. Today I tried your method and it worked well! I now have another Kabuki I can use.
