Thanks, DP. The HOH storefront definitely lists two different types under OMG! Rings; silicone and Buna. I'm assuming it is the Buna-type that is the new 45 durometer O-ring that Knife mentioned. I can't imagine that ZEN would sell replacement parts he has deemed unsuitable (the original 90 durometer Buna). It isn't clear, however. And you know what can happen when one assumes.
I wish they had a better product description concerning their o rings. Size, material and durometer would be nice.

A couple of days back I mentioned seeing APVs for sale in the HOH outlet store, but that they disappeared shortly after.

I just figured out this morning that they didn't disappear at all. There are now two web addresses for the HOH webstore! I suspect that it has happened due to the new person taking over the ZFO as Zen posted a while back, but I'm really surprised that the new site hasn't been publicized more. And I'm really not sure how I stumbled across the website in the first place. Be aware I am anti-Facebook so please forgive me if this new site is common knowledge. I haven't heard a peep about it here.

thezfo.com has a LOT of things you won't find on the HOH site. APVs, juice, tanks, new driptips, accessories...even some GMZ 510 Kabukis which appear to be sold out.

I got a really nice black anodized ZNA lite and some pretty good tobacco juice from Canada.

So as a catch up update has the tanks getting cracked issue been solved? I read somewhere that the original o rings were the wrong size and produced to tight of a fit? Has anyone tried the new o rings? Is the problem solved? As I mentioned a while back I'd like to give my wife a genuine kabuki as a gift but she's a tough sell if it isn't at least as easy to own/operate as the nautilus mini is. Thanks in advance- David

The Buna ones are older stock. They are the higher durometer (harder) O-rings. He did not deem them "unsuitable". He does have a warning on most of them that they are a tight fit....
Zen's words...

"These O-rings have been hidden around here since we shut down the original online shop about 3 years ago... and they are the correct size to fit all legacy devices like the carto tanks, Z-attys and hybrid PVs... but they WILL work on Kabukis IF you can deal with a pretty snug fit... they lube-up pretty well with e-liquid. They will be VERY snug on Kabuki 510 (but WILL work) and will be a perfect fit for Kabuki P3 and Kabuki Z2.

If we ever restock these, they WILL be more expensive, so get 'em while you can. And if you buy them for a Kabuki 510, remember.... SNUG FIT... so... no complaining... mmmkay?"

The Silicone O rings are the lower durometer ones. They would be the better choice. They are easier to use on the Kabukis and they have a longer shelf life.

Thanks, Enta!

Thanks for that advice! Ok I did loosen the AFC and bumped it up to 9 watts (and will go up if needed) and Will see how it does. Thank you for the fast response!

I have multiple Kabukis, all with 1.8ohm Aspire BVC coils, most purchased from Sweet-Vapes. With 50-50 juice, which I prefer, I vape at nine watts. With higher VG juices, and I think the highest I have is 80%, I vape around 10 to 11 watts. On all of the Kabukis, I have the air screw just flush with the edge of the tank. Most of my juices are dark, generally vanilla custards of some type.

I have zero issues with spitting, wicking, etc. With a new coil, I put one drop on each of the air holes and one drop on the screen, fill the tank about and let it sit for 10 minutes or so. I do take a couple of primer draws, but I do not start at a lower power and ramp up.

After the first tank, I take a soft pipe cleaner, not the the kind mixed with nylon bristles, and gently run it down the drip tip and just barely touch the top of the screen. I leave it for a couple of seconds, then I tend to run it back and forth a few times down to just above the screen. With some juices I get a nasty pipe cleaner. With others it looks like I didn't use it. I've been doing this since way before I went to Kabukis. My thinking, and I could be wrong, but this makes for a nicer vape and avoids any spitting, etc.

The only problem I have is I tend to chain vape and this sometimes cooks the juice. It doesn't change the taste as much as it just looks nasty. For grins I'm going to add one drop of distilled water the next time I fill and see if it changes the appearance.

I find with my style of vaping and the juices I use, I only get about 15mls per coil. I had longer use before Aspire changed the wicking to cotton, although the taste is better with cotton. I've resigned myself that with my style I'm not going to get months or whatever others get with their coils. And with my coil usage, the cost of the juices I like and my juice consumption--forget equipment cost, there is no money saved over smoking the Black & Mild cigars I smoked for years. Besides not smoking, one of my goals was to save money.

Saving money would have been nice, but I've had tons of fun and met lots of great people with vaping.

Provape had a flash sale last night and I had some rewards so I plucked up the gunmetal p3 Kabuki! Can't wait to get it. :)
Cool! They look awesome in person. I love the white o-rings.

I just got home from my local B&M. I went to buy a $2.99 eGo to 510 adapter for the JustFog tank I won on ECF. Stupid Kubukis. They had one GMZ left and one steel replacement tank. Let's just say that I didn't get out of the store with spending $2.99.

I think 2 Kabukis will be the end for me as I have over 20 good tanks including drippers, RTA's etc. I couldn't pass up the GMZ Kabuki though as the CDN$ fluctuations allowed me to get the tank for well under $100US.

Hey Bre,

Given the fact I'm from Michigan, a lot of people on Xbox Live assume I'm Canadian by the way I talk.

Timely post, Thx!

I bought a brand spanking new Kabuki GMZ less than an hour ago and am not pleased to say the least.

I washed out the Kabuki and carefully put it back together before first use. The white o-rings are obviously waaayyyyy too big and my glass tank went kaboom when I tried to CAREFULLY reassemble. Shattered into a million pieces and I am lucky I still have all of my fingers. Not cool at all with a $100 tank IMO. No way that tank was going back on in one piece. I lubed up up and was extremely careful. Not my first rodeo with glass tanks. 100% QC problem with the o-rings IMO.

I am glad that I bought the SS replacement tank or the tank would be completely useless until I spent another $10 on a replacement tank that would very likely realize the same fate as my original one.

Breaking a $10 glass tank on one of the most expensive tanks on the market before even using it once is not acceptable. I get that new o-rings are available but I am far from an o-ring expert and would expect potentially defective products recalled or the rings swapped out prior to being offered for sale.

End of rant, but I would expect much better things from HoH.

I Agree!!!

After breaking two glass tanks, I am on an acrylic tank now.

Wow. That is awful. I hope that doesn't happen to mine. Luckily I have a steel tank that I can use in case it happens. I am going to buy some polycarbonate tanks.

Yeah. Not cool as I literally picked it up, drove home and rinsed it off as soon as I got thru the door.

i do like using glass from time to time and I am very disappointed that the glass broke thru no real user error.

I do have another glass tank from my other Kabuki, but I am petrified to try to shoehorn it on without breaking it as well.

The SS tank doesn't look terrible with the GMZ though....

I realize that suggesting you spend another $15 after what has happened to you may be insulting...

But ZEN does have a GMZ metal tank sleeve.

I also had issues with my P3 GMZ top cap. They had the old buna white o-rings. I really struggled to get only the top off and eventually broke a tank. I had the silicone OMGs on order so I quit using them. Once received I installed the silicone OMGs and found it much easier to remove although I do put a little dab of eliquid on them. The bottom base I do not put eliquid on nor do I need to use the wrenchie thing to remove it. I did not have the same issue with the stainless steel P3 although I do put eliquid on both the top and bottom base. My original 510 Kabukis were touch and go. Had some issues where I finally had to send them to HoH and they came back in much easier condition.

Cool. I would have grabbed that if my B&M had it in stock. I have 2 Kabukis and 2 SS tanks, so I am good.

I am just a bit upset that it happened before use and not due to a drop. I will get past it. Might need some therapy and a few weeks off work, but I should be fine. ;) Kabukis are amazing tanks and my slight disappointment will not prevent them from being my all day tanks.

In any case, I spoke to my retailer and they are giving me a replacement glass tank for free. They are great to deal with and local, so I figured it was easier reaching out to them them HoH. I will bring the Kabuki with me to see if the o-ring issue absolutely needs to be addessed or if the glass tank can actually be properly installed.:)
