Anybody Using A Kabuki?

I'm hoping for a reprieve.

Love those darn Kabukis.

Not counting on it.

I've been kicked in the teeth enough in life to not have any hope of winning this fight. The tactics used are so very reminiscent of an earlier prohibition which has cost our country countless dollars, and so many lives damaged, that the real cost is immeasurable. Public opinion has been swayed with dark tactics and lies, and truth has been ignored and crushed by a steam roller of disinformation ( just like before). I can't afford to keep my hopes up, because if I do and we do fail, I will snap. I need to focus on personally surviving this thing and try to push the rest out of my mind. My wife is about sick and tired of my focusing on things I cannot change, and I need my world to be a happy place.

I am truly devastated by the dark path that the FDA has taken, they are nothing short of desk murderers. Killers without conscience or soul... I am done with advocacy, it is a fools game, yes we were decieved and everything we shared only sharpened the guillotine for our necks. These vermin cannot be reasoned with. enough said.

Yeah, the deeming kinda put the kaibosh on my love affair with my Kabuki's. I am going with, what the heck, I got about a hundred coils and I'm going to use them suckas' up with my Kabuki's, but I'm down to running one at a time, and going to save them for when we go on trips. They are super convinient and enjoyable, but are a non renewable resource as of right now in my life.

I've brushed off my RSST genesis atties and ZAP atties and gone back to dripping and Russians, and running a couple PT2's for now, for when I'm out and about. I am glad that at least I have some Zen atties that will be good to go for many years to come. The Kabuki will not survive the deeming if it stands, can't say I didn't see this coming...

Good point about travel. I have just under 100 coils, but if I keep any Kabukis, it will be for travel/work and not for home use.

I did order a couple of the 3rd party Nautilus RBAs and if they ultimately work, I will be buying a bunch of them.

I hope someone does. Without a Kabuki RBA, I will likely sell all 4 of my Kabukis and buy a bunch of Kayfuns.

My wife is completely off the smokes and has been vaping like a madwoman for 3 weeks now which is amazing. Not so amazing is going thru 3-4 coils a week between us. I have no intention of buying a thousand Nautilus coils to last us 5 years or so....

That depends on how stable the rubber compound the grommet for the pin is. Some Chinese rubber seems to disintegrate after a few years.

1000 may not be enough to last 5 years between 2 people.

That's why dropping $4-6k on coils to last 10 years upfront is idiotic to me.

I will likely buy another 100 and call it a day. Drippers and Kayfuns, Crowns, Subtanks and Aromamizers for me after that.

I can rebuild horizontal Kanger coils and likely Nautilus, but it is a gigantic P.I.T.A. Not a great strategy in any case...

Built a verticle narrow clapton (0.3ｍｍ (27g) narrow wire wrapped by 0.1mm (38g) Kanthal A-1. 2.5mm) 7 wraps at 1.4 ohms and wrapped the cotton around the outside. No dry hits or leaking so far and flavor is on par with the BVC coil. Took awhile to figure out the best way to set it up and mounting the coil takes patience and perseverance.

I got a bunch of older Protank heads with the white rubber grommet insulator, all I can taste when I try to use them is the rubber, I've leaned how to take them apart and substitute the silicon grommet from spent coils in there and save the coils.

I too am having very good luck building the new rbd for my Kabuki. so much so that I have ordered more of them.

Flavor is outstand. Yes it can be tedious to build, but luckily I have played with working on watches for years, so I found that using a pair of magnifying visors and a few minutes of my time, it is no difficult chore. Well worth it, and a good move if impending doom hits us all!

The hardest part for me, is getting the cotton behind the coil on the tall side of the device. If not full enough, it can leak some thru the pin, and into the channel surrounding the connection in the Radius. It requires a bit more, and tighter than I would have initially thought. If they had a raised area around the air channel under the coil, (ala. Kayfun) this could have been prevented. Other than that, nice effort.

I removed the screen from one of my spent coils, (Triton as it has a larger pass thru hole) and placed it in the chimney of the kabuki. This has stopped spit back when using a drop of distilled water in the tank. It did crackle and spit a lot when using the D. water. Not such a problem if not using it.

My two should be here soon. They would be worth their weight in gold if they work long term.

I have no problem buying a dozen of those if they work. I just threw out a 5 pack of authentic Nautilus coils as they were crap. Almost no taste. Nauti coils are generally great, but you gotta figure 5-10% will be garbage and who knows what affect long term storage will have on them.

The rebuildabble seems pretty solid for long term use?

I've never had any total failure coils, but some better than others. Last week, I put a new one in my wife's Kabuki, and she wanted to know what mixture I used, as it tasted fantastic to her. Sadly, I had to tell her that i could not duplicate it, as the mixture was the same, but the coil was the best I have ever seen in a nauti coil.

The one difference I have noticed in the rebuildable so far, is that there doesn't' seem to be the break in time required as in the Nauti coil. (Oddly enough, the Triton Mini doesn't require it either). But the biggie for us, is that the Nauti coil tasted great after it first breaks in, and then slowly degrades. To the point that you when you put a new coil in, it's almost like "Hello"!!!, Now that is what it is supposed to taste like. It degrades so slowly, that you almost don't notice it but it becomes really apparent when you change.

What I'm finding with the rebuildable, is No Break in. (The first use, was terrible, but totally my fault). #1 I didn't properly clean it, and #2, it had a off rubber taste to it. I pulled the Red Rubber "0" ring, and replaced it with the yellow "0" Ring from one of my Triton Coils. The Liquid had to be dumped from the tank, and th4e tank rinsed, as the off flavor was permeated into the Liquid.

Once cleaned, and the O'Ring from the Triton installed, it has been vaping pleasure ever since. Very pleasureable, and it does not degrade anywhere nearly as fast as the Triton Coil, which does not' degrade as fast as a Nauti coil. So a real Win-Win!

Maybe I am a fool for trying hard to remain optimistic. Too many Kabukis to toss the towel in so I am accumulating Nautilus coils.

I have 5 kabuki and bought 5 of the RBA decks. I have only built the one so far, but the coil has been very stable, no jumping ohms, it could use some smoothing out on the threads, but works ok as is. It is not an easy build, but worth it! Just hope I can replicate it! I went ahead and ordered 3 more for spares today. Only time will tell on long term viability, but I am liking it better than the reg BVC so far....
