I have been vaping for 5 weeks now and stopped analogs the day I started. I have found that I do seem to vape more often, but probably not taking in any more nicotine since I'm not smoking full cigarettes at a time.

If I have to get up in the middle of the night to visit the bathroom, I have noticed I take a few vapes before going back to sleep (I never would have gone outside to smoke at this time). I also take a couple of toots pretty much as soon as I wake up in the morning.

I'm wondering if it's just the convenience of vaping in the house vs. going outside to smoke, or if it's just the fact that e-juice is just more desirable than stinky, tar/chemical containing tobacco. Do any of you all have similar vaping habits?

It's probably a combination of both convenience and good juice. I do out of habit, vape first thing in the morning, but I can honestly say that I don't have cravings in the mornings like I did with the stinkies. For some reason I can go a while without vaping, another plus of vaping for me. But yeah, if I wake up in the middle of the night, I almost always take a puff or two before crashing again.

I'm always awake before I start vaping.

Seriously, I find myself doing the same thing that you're doing. I think part of it is that I smoked multiple cigars in a day and the nicotine levels were very high. There were times in fact, (only during summer months here,) that I would wake up in the middle of the night and smoke a cigar.

So I do the same thing now only it's smoke free. Nicotine effects wear off dramatically after about 4 hours and you can be going through the beginning of withdrawal. This can force you to wake up. Having a few vapes may actually be helping you go back to sleep. By slowly cutting back on the level of nicotine this should be more controllable as time goes on.

I also vape in the middle of the night if I wake up and first thing in the morning :)

I vape all day and all night.

When I get up in the morning my PV is on the night stand, I grab it and hang it around my neck. and begin vaping. I do this to break my habit of a morning cigarette with my coffee.

When I go to bed I will vape for a few minutes if I'm reading before sleep.

I don't often wake in the night but if I do I might take a hit or two.

I do that too. But I used to do similar when I was on tobacco :) I had lost my job just before I quit and I started smoking so much more either out of stress or boredom or simply the ability to have a smoke whenever I wanted to. So maybe I had just upped my nic tolerance too just before I started vaping.

I am gradually slowing down on the vaping though. I guess if/when I'm back in a 9-5 situation I will find a new equilibrium again.

Interesting...I go to 0 nic juice a couple hours before sleep and usually wake up2-3 hours later...sometime I take a puff or two and hit the hay again.

I have my PV next to my alarm. Alarm goes off, grab the PV and puff till I am awake enought to get up.

I vape the same way I smoked essentially. But now I'm so glad I can just take a puff or two of vape and lay it down. When I started vaping I still smoked a while and discovered that over the years I really never wanted a whole smoke. I usually let it burn up without finishing it or had dozens of half-finished smokes in stashes for a rainy day. Horrid but when I just wanted a few puffs, I would relight one of those. So, yeh, I vape pretty much the way I smoked it just doesn't taste so bad.

Need at least a little coffee first. Some food helps before I start, makes for a better overall experience.

Never was one of those who could light up a smoke before even rolling out of bed. If I did that it made every cig taste like crap the rest of the day.

For some reason this morning I took a vape first thing in the morning and didn't enjoy it. Food and drink before vape for me.

I think its a combination of all of those things ... I vape way more than I smoked, which is easy to do because like you said, it tastes good, and I don't have to go outside. When I wake up in the morning I put on a pot of coffee, go brush my teeth, and sit down and have a vape w/coffee ... The only thing I don't do is vape in the middle of the night.

I think my ego has become my security blanket, I always want it in my hand or nearby, whether I'm using it or not. My routine is to sit in a comfy recliner in my bedroom every night and read before I go to sleep, so I vape while reading. Then the ego goes to my night stand, so I can be sure it's there when I go to sleep. When I wake up, it's the first thing I see, and although I don't usually vape until I have my coffee going, the ego is in my hand immediately.
