just about 6 days now. put the vaporizer away last night, did not use it in the morning. did not bring it to work with me. plowed through the smoking areas like they were not there. took a few pulls on it while i'm surfing and sitting. other than that. no thoughts nagging at me that i somehow i need it, or a cig (even worse). even got used to the 0 nic flavor. still on course to put the vaporizer down by the end of the week for good.

Good for you, congratulations! After only 46 days? My plan is to stop vaping. Unfortunately I have way to much juice, fortunately it doesn't taste very good. :) I think I'll order a bottle of 0mg and see if I go totally insane.

I kept my 0mg stuff easily available. Only if I went into an emotional tailspin of anger or depression would i change to the 18mg carto, and then only a few puffs.

If that doesn't work, you can always use your bottle of 0mg to cut the nic content of what you have been vaping. It will not go to waste. MBV sent me a freebie bottle of razzle dazzle 12mg. I don't know what to do with it.

you can lead a horse to water, but it won't drink it unless it wants to. still up to the individual. and i still think smokers are still caught up in the whole nicotine propaganda show. as you can see by all the threads about nicotine withdrawal, and deprivation. once the tobacco was out of the equation, it really wasn't a big deal (speaking for myself). i certainly don't miss it as much as i thought i would. the other side of the coin, is i am determined to be classified a non smoker. so the brain is on the same page as the body for a change. i can't speak to anyone Else's addiction.

Congrats on your success thus far in reaching your goal of giving it all up :)

We are all different so this doesn't mean everyone will have the same reaction, but you're not the first person to experience that once you got rid of your addiction to cigarettes that nicotine itself did not have the addictive powers over you that we are led to believe it has over everyone. :) And I agree, having your brain and body on the same page does help a lot :)

Good luck with your future. Keep enough vaping supplies around for a long time should the desire to have a cigarette ever rear its ugly head for you again ;)

just spent too much time worrying about nic withdrawal. when i took the plunge, wanted to be sure there was a record of my effort, for anyone like me. hopefully it helps someone else make the attempt minus all the doubt. the experience has been quite the eye opener. thats not correct. to be honest i'm pretty drowsy without all the stimulants. hopefully my body's metabolism will even out after i heal a bit more. nicotine free is definitely a game changer for me. hope others make the attempt

Thanks for writing this up, it's given me plenty to think about... and hope for.

7 years ago I gave up smoking, but never gave up nicotine. I was using NRT (high nic lozenges and chewing gum) every day. While my nic intake reduced very slowly, it never got to zero. Stupidly, I felt healthy enough to tolerate smoking again after three years so started again. Damn stupid F#*%... !

I don't know how much I was psychologically addicted, and how much was chemical.

I started vaping with the intention to get off tobacco first, then maybe reduce the nicotine level slowly. I know that right now, at times of stress I really need to vape the 18mg juice to calm me down.

It's very different for everybody, but I have no intention of smoking ever again. You've inspired me to reduce the nicotine to 0 and I feel happy that I'll have full conrol over the nicotine levels with DIY. I'll just have to do it slowly but with a bit more determination than I did with my three year stint on NRT.

Congrats on your success and I hope you stay that way.

I have been vaping 0 nic most of the time for the last year +, some of my favorite juices don't come in 0 nic......

I still have the hand to mouth habit and like creating the cloud of vapor....
I had to stop all nicotine ( smoke's and snuff) for a kidney transplant. I use vaping to stop for good, used nicotine for a few months to stop. Been vaping for almost 18 months heavy. If I'm working I don't bother with it, but if watching TV. Or driving I'm chain vaping. Like you said it's the hand to mouth thing or the real sensation that's hard to beak or maybe I just

i have been able to deal with most of my triggers. except when i'm sitting in front of the computer/idiot box/tv/ brain drainer.that is about the only time i feel the need to feed the hand to mouth obsession. every day without the nicotine feels better and better, just like when i put the tobacco down. the road to 0 nicotine is going to be handy when we are classified as non smokers.

Thanks for all the follow ups on your journey to being nicotine free.... I have narrowed my usage down to in front of the computer and driving...

You have this addiction behind you!
Great work.
Keep the mod around with 0mg for any oral fixations.

I have quit 8 times, just now 3 weeks and 1 day off analogs. I always went back after a year or two because of the relaxing nature of smoking. I simply enjoy the act of smoking.
Im hoping an e-cig with 0mg will give me the fix Im looking for to stay off the cigs for good.
Should show up in the mail tomorrow...cant wait to try it.

Great work brother...stay focused on being done with it all!

I've now been tobacco free for three weeks, vaping 18mg but also using 0mg when I feel I've had enough but still want to vape. Yesterday I developed a tick in my left eye that lasted about two hours. I don't mean the eyelid - the eyeball was actually moving independantly and very rapidly. I'm pretty sure that this was some neurological disfunction due to the withdrawal from some of those other 4000+ chemicals in cigarette smoke. Nasty stuff and very concerning, but thankfully it didn't last very long. I'm going to give myself another month at this nicotine level, then see if I can tolerate reducing it slowly. It would be great if I can eventually report a similar success to yours. Even at 0mg I shall probably continue to vape as long as I feel I need it but judging from what you say, even that will probably start to decline.

I just got a new Ego-C twist and am liking the 0mg nic at 4.2 volts.

had the eye tick my whole life. attributed to my clean wholesome lifestyle. read on here that it is an effect of smoking. and here i thought i was having mini strokes.

I am currently wearing a nicotine patch, to quit smoking, and vaping with 0mg. It is relaxing and helps when I am driving. I don't want to be dependent on nicotine.

If you can reduce the nicotine levels this way it's great. If you run into strife consider vaping the nicotine instead. Do NOT have a smoke as it's a slippery slope if you're only vaping 0mg.

Nicotine adds a throat hit to the vape that fools the brain into thinking that you're smoking which is very useful.

Stay with what you are doing if it works for you, but be aware that patches and gum have a different delivery method that the brain may not be fooled by. The only thing we can say for certain is that everyone's experience is different.

Good Luck!

Congrats to all of you having success with lowering or ceasing the nicotine intake! Hopefully soon I can join your ranks. I had quit using Chantix before but after 8-9 months i just started up again. I do not recommend Chantix at all, it had some very scary effects on my mind and I don't believe it was worth it to be honest. Anyways Vaping definitely presents a much better alternative in my mind.

Good luck to all and keep it up!
