It took several attempts to find a coil setup that didn't take forever to heat up and that didn't produce so much throat kick with 6mg of nicotine that I couldn't vape it. This one is perfect... so far. Quad coils with 6/5 wraps of 30 gauge kanthal wire around a 3/32" drill bit at 0.49 Ohms. A slightly warm, heavy vape with good flavor. What coil setup do you have for your IGO-W6?

It's a V-Creations Lunar Mod I've been using since around December. Thing ways a ton, but I like the way it feels in the hand.

I like mine as well, and even more so glued an old Carto Tank to the cap for a mouthpiece to get better airflow (I now call it the CloudCannon!). I hear you about the holes for the upper coils, but that being said I've not noticed any difference in the coils firing from the lower coils. This picture is actually old, and since then I've re-wrapped my W6 with four 5-wrap 28g coils at a .231Ω. I'd like to try some 22g or 24g kanthal next time I build.

How do you wick yours? I loop two pieces of cotton from each tall coil to each low coil.

I wick 4 individual cotton wicks from the top and tuck the tails underneath. Then I tuck all the tops behind the posts on the left. This way, I end up with a continous ring of cotton around the top. Seems to work out pretty well. I use 6mg of nicotine, so I'm scared to go any higher than 30 gauge right now. I know I can run larger gauge because the chamber is so large and airholes are generous that I don't have to worry about the vape getting too hot, but the the throat hit can get intense. I did build out a 26 gauge coil prior that killed me. If I was using zero nicotine juice, it might have been a different story.

What is your heat up time like? I was thinking of trying 28 gauge with a 6/5 wrap, but I'm worried it will take longer than I want to start vaping and if I go to a 5/4 wrap, it might have too much a throat hit.

Edit: Just did the 6/5 wrap of 28 gauge and I like it better. Now I actually get a little throat hit from it and the heat up time isn't too bad either.

I used the same 6/5 quad w/ 30g Kanthal and it works very well; not as hot as I expected and a nice throat thump with most juices I've tried. I think I may try the next build with 28g just to see the difference.

Hmmm... igo-w6 on a brass stingray... makes you want to just want to... wait... like this?

And sorry for resurrecting an old post, I just stumbled across it.

well!!!... i got my W6 todayy...and i love it!!! i think its my favourite atty thus far!! the caps have the exact amount of resistance, you pull the cap off without the whole barrel coming off to, excellant quality for a clone.
i saw yall rigging up vert's so thought i'd go against the grain and stick to horizontal's, i wicked with muji cotton pads, cut a slither off a full pad, peeled a couple of layers of so i could twist the cotton through, i didnt want to obstruct the airflow to the back of the coils so i cut the tails short with the two top wicks sitting ontop of the lower ones:vapor:
first build was a tester with 30g kanthal, 4x 9wrap, 2mm id about .5-.6Ω which was an okay vape but not warm enough for me, second attempt was the following, 4x 7wrap, 28g kanth, 2mm id .25Ω, much better fuller vape :)

I have the Igo w3. It also accommodates quad coils. There just isn't enough room on the deck. It is a pain to set up and it is too easy for your coils to get misshapen despite keeping a drill bit in the coil during the set up. I wish I had just gotten a 3 post but I figured this would cover whatever I wanted to do. I still am building duals on it but not as much as I think I would if it wasn't such a pain.

Actually I was so lazy this last build that I made it a single coil out of flat kanthal (3/4 wraps, 0.5x0.1 gauge) with a raw cotton wick that reads at 1.0 ohms. It hits great, alot of vapor and flavor for being just a single. I just haven't gotten good enough at building yet that I can make 2 identical coils right off the bat. Sometimes I get 2 perfect right away but usually I have to build 3 or four to get one that perfectly matches the first one built.
