No problem, but the offer stands if you change your mind. Also for Supporting Members this is not a problem, mine is much larger, and the board resized it for me with no error.
Megan, didn't some type of photo editing software come with your new computer?
When I was using desktops and laptops, I used Photoshop or Paint to resize everything.

I guess I got lucky! I just picked a picture and it worked!

Yeah...they took that away from me when I became a mod. Suppliers and supplier associates can't be supporting members.
Not really. I'm on a mac so can resize via Finder but can't get the images below 8kb....Can't resize via Photos.
Pretty sure GIMP works on Mac Meg, not positive but that would let you resize.

Whatever it is, I gave you another ...got to get those numbers up!
...could give you some of my erroneous ones if I knew how Apparently, you get a bigger allowance for the avatar if you're a supporting member, and you can also use the 'mood' button too.
I think, from what I've seen, that the forum software has some degree of auto re-size on those larger allowances for supporting members because mine was 45kb, and someone else I 'spoke' with earlier also used a bigger file but it posted into the avatar OK.
One more question guys. Once you've set up your name on your account. Can it be changed. Like if I wanted a nickname?
For those of you who want a simple graphics program to resize pictures, change formats, etc., download Irfanview. It's not an editor, but it will open any type of graphics file and allow you to crop, resize, and save as different file types. Very handy little program and it's free.
I used to use that all the time when I was on a real computer and not an iPad like I am now.
