I don't think USPS is government, just the largest employer in the US. I could be wrong, and often am.

The Postal service is indeed a Federal Agency; the IRS is not.

UPS, USPS, Fedex, etc.. opens suspicious packages under the Homeland Security Act. With that tag they can do anything they want.

Let me add this:

The Modern Postal Service: Agency or Business?
Until adoption of the Postal Reorganization Act of 1970, the U.S. Postal Service functioned as a regular, tax-supported, agency of the federal government.
According to the laws under which it now operates, the U.S. Postal Service is a semi-independent federal agency, mandated to be revenue-neutral. That is, it is supposed to break even, not make a profit.

I've had several packages that I could tell had been opened then resealed. I didnt make a report of it because I don't know if the place I bought from forgot to add an item and opened it to put something else in. Nothing was missing so...??? Who knows.

So you had lots of different vendors forgetting things and repacking your mail, lol.

USPS can and will open your mail anytime they want and you should be thankful for them doing so.

You get the same thing when you fly internationally , if the TSA wants, they will open your luggage inspect and close .
No big deal.

If anyone dared open my mail I would be at the post office immediately with a lawyer in tow - And prepared to sue the pants off anyone who did it.

If anyone is actually opening your mail then you need to put the fear of god into them. Could you perhaps just be a bit paranoid? (I don't mean that to be an insult) but if you've never done anything then why:

A.) Are you worried

and

B.) Why are you not all over them?

:rolleyes::rolleyes: No Lawyer in his right mind will go with you, lol
You will not sue nobody's pants since its their legal right to do so and you should be thankful they do.

But, I guess some people will sue anybody these days.

"Fear of God in them" - LMAO

It is sad that they do open it.
but it is suppose to be taped back with proper Tape that Notes who opened it.
IE Customs Tape or Postal Tape.

Lucky that none of my packages have ever been opened. 2-4 cartons of marbs from philippines.. and another was 3lbs of tobacco Leaves. 3lbs equals about 50 leaves.
They smell good also & Don't have the extra's sprayd on them.

None has been opened.. 1 reason why is cause its not easily opened.. There is tape completely wrapped around the whole package.

Also your not suppose to mail tobacco products. Yet your limited to mailing 10 lbs a month of tobacco. They Contradict themselves on all of it.

Thinks I will place a order from china just to see if it gets opened. As I have never ordered liquid from china Only Electronics.

Won't get into the government issue As this is not the spot for it.

But also on note the postal in Philippines does not want to ship liquids how it was told.
And they stand there and watch you pack it. At-least where she lives.
unless they Want to make sure it won't leak etc not sure about it as never tried to ship any liquids from there. Only Tobacco products.
