I generally do not have any weird taste issues; since I'm still quite new I am vaping the cheaper flavors from house of vapor here in Amherst, ny. But I have noticed that if I eat anything that has onions in it; even if it was, say yesterday, even if I am all brushed and clean; I notice after a while that I'll have an onion aftertaste... Is this normal? Has anyone else ever had this issue with vaping?

There's a distinct possibility that that's just your sense of taste returning because you're not smoking...

Onions are renowned for making people's breath smell due to lingering chemistry.

I suppose it could be sense of taste...I just didn't know onions stayed around that long after you ate them and brushed and rinsed and all...I guess if you're taste is coming back you'd notice that more. Ew.

I think it might depend on the individual person... People's chemistry differs. There are people whose saliva dissolves chewing gum, apparently.

Gum disintegration syndrome – Pharyngula

I eat bits of raw onion and garlic all the time when I'm cooking, and have never been told I have oniony / garlicy breath.

Maybe they were just being polite... :)

Your tastes go through weird changes when you stop smoking/start vaping. That's why it's not a good idea to buy mass quantities of liquid when you first start. You may love a flavor and the next day, hate it. My sister had a liquid she said tasted like white shoe polish (no idea where that came from), after about a week she loved it.

What flavor is it?

I've noticed it using numerous flavors; mostly all fruity flavors such as grape, watermelon, cherry, coconut, mango, peach and pineapple coconut rum...basically, any flavor will taste fine then after an hr or 2 I start to notice the onion taste.

I get an odd taste in my mouth a few hours after some flavors. For me, it's like the taste after drinking, like alcohol breath. I haven't had a drink in over 9 years and I find that flavor kinda nasty. If my flavors are made with alcohol you'd think it'd have been gone already. I steep caps off.

Just did a quick search of what gives onions their flavor:
propyl thiosulfonates
propyl di and tri sulfides
propenyl di and tri sulfides
dimethylthiopenes

Don't know if that's helpful but if by some miracle one of these are listed on an ingredients list for your liquid; the problem is solved.

Unfortunately, the only ingredients given are PG and or VG, pure water, nicotine and natural flavoring... and since natural flavoring can mean anything, I suppose I will never know. Maybe I need to find some juices online that state what they use for flavoring; is that even possible?
