Do you have something to check the ohms with? I have a provari, and I always check the ohms on the carto before I start vaping it. I've noticed a Boge may start out at 3.0 ohms, but after, say the first tank full, the ohms either goes up or down. I've had them vary widely while still vaping the same tank full. As much as .5 ohms variance. I really don't see how anyone could vape a carto without having something to check the ohms with and vary the volts anymore.:(

I got 100 boge carts in February in a group buy. They are 2.0ohm two hole single coil. Been working great. I even block one of the holes to avoid flooding issues. Never a dry hit. Maybe the filler in your carts are a little too dense. You could try to use the cart in a normal fashion i.e. don't punch it just fill it and try it without the tank. It could be they use different or tighter filler for different applications. Good luck.

I found out that the punch diameter is critical for a particular juice (also double punch my cartos). Tried both ways, smaller diameter punches to big holes and both ends of the extreme gave me carto problems (flooding with weird taste or dry). Settled to 2.5 turn punches for my 60/40 juice and everything settled down, getting consistent carto performance again.

Oh and the position of the punches matter too, too low is not good, this height works perfectly for me.

Some of my recently-purchased Boges have had super dense filler that made them very sluggish in pulling in juice even when double or triple punched. I found that poking the filler material from the top with a thin sewing needle before priming helped out quite a bit. Seems to loosen up the filler enough so that it wicks much better.

I've been unhappy with boge carts as of recent. I haven't tried smoktech in about a year, so I might give them a go. I'm not having wicking issues, but just not happy with the performance from them. They don't have that popping and crackling to them anymore. Its like the material used in the coils is different or something along those lines. I wish they would go back to what they used to be.

Great to see this thread. I just purchased my first cartotank (VVV) which came with a Boge factory punch carto (2 hole). I also purchased 5 extras. I'm also having wicking problems. I thought the preinstalled one may be faulty so I put in a new one from the box. Filled tank and dripped a bunch into open end of carto. Let sit and drip more...several times until it wouldn't absorb any more.

I get maybe 10-15 good hits and then all the filler is dry again. Being a new cartotank user I assumed I was doing something wrong but I have read and read about how to fill and prime and I think I am doing things correctly.

It appears as though there are problems though based on the above posts. I'll try the pin poke trick and report back.

BTW, I am using 65/35 PG to VG ratio so it's not thick juice that's causing the problems.

I've been a Boge fan forever, but the last few batches have gotten dry/burnt hits if I don't do a few draws before firing. I double punch, just like always, but it's just not like my old Boges.

Anyone have any insight as to whats going on?

I just ran out of Smoktek flanger LR cartos and have been giving the Boges a try and I find them pretty disappointing. I got about 2.5 days out of one that was wicking well and then it burned out, turned my juice brown, and got that awesome burned taste. 4.1 volts on a Provari with Khlorine.

Last night I primed a fresh Boge, filled a 22mm XL OCD with Pluid, and went out for the evening. I was getting really weak, muted flavor all night, which is very strange with a powerful flavor like Pluid.

Started a fresh carto this morning and I am getting similar weak results. A few ok pulls and then the filling is very clearly drying out.

This is frustrating because I have been having problems with the Smoktek cartos flooding a few hours after tank fill, and now the single big hole factory drilled Boges won't get enough juice.

I have read Baditude's and other's praises for the Ikenvape cartos, but I can't rely on Ikenvape's supply chain, which frankly sucks as it is a "stalk the website 24/7 hitting F5 and stock up for the 3 minutes that the have them in stock" which is all too common in the vaping world.

At any rate, I am going to keep searching, or I am going to have to move to some other delivery method, which sucks because I love tanks, but if my choices are constant flooding, burned out dry hits, or spending half of my time refreshing a site trying to get a part that may or may not ever be available to purchase, I'm going to have to do something different.

pesky_human I can tell you that I use the Smoktech 3.2 ohms Single coil standard and XL cartos with no issues. I buy my cartos from Ibtanked. Never had a flooding issues, easy to prime, they last a good time, no burnt taste. All my juice is 50/50 from Ahlusion.

On another the note, the Ikenvape LR standard cartos did not work for me at all. I tried 3 of them. My experience with a first 2 was it takes longer to prime and had a hard draw compared to the Smoktech ones I use. Went back a week later and tried a third one, and it was better than the first 2. I have purchased Ikenvape SR XL ( Fusion ) but haven't tried those yet.

To report back from my last post (last week). Still having problems with my Boge cartos, even after taking a long needle to it and shoving it down through the filler many times to loosen things up. I let my cartotank sit for 2 whole days without vaping on it. Got maybe 10-15 hits out of it before the filler dried up and gave dry hits again.

Strangely enough, my coworker and I bought our tanks and extra Boge cartos at the same time, from the same place, on the same order. He is not having problems with his. Then again he takes very small hits and not very often.

I also tried a different juice, that is 50/50 so a bit thicker than the 65/35 I first tried. Same thing...dry cart.

Went back to my protank and all is great with that. I so wanted this new tank and cartos to work out but so far, no love.

Damn you Boge and damn you Ikenvape (for never having stock). Guess I may have to try the Smoktechs. What's a good source for 35mm, prepunched Smoks?

Finally got my Boges to start wicking...with a little modification. I finally got fed up as the factory laser-punched cartos wouldn't wick at all and took a hack saw to one. Cut a horizontal slit through the side of the carto right where the hole was drilled at from the factory. I only did one side, but what a huge difference it made. The carto wicks properly and even chain vaping it, it still works great. Yes it sucks that I had to do this to get it working and my saw blade is a bit duller now, but I am now happy.
